Two Riverbend High School seniors have orally accepted full scholarship offers from Football Championship Subdivision colleges in Virginia.
Tight end-defensive lineman Matt Krout committed to James Madison University, while D.J. Edmond, a safety, gave his pledge to Liberty.
Both Krout and Edmond made their decisions this past weekend after attending games at their respective choices.
"I think they're both capable and great athletes," Riverbend head coach Drew Seaman said. "They both should have a lot of success."
Krout and Edmond were also recruited by Football Bowl Subdivision schools but didn't want to continue waiting on a scholarship offer from the bigger programs.

Liberty was Edmond's only official offer, but Seaman said Duke and Navy were giving him serious consideration.
Seaman said Edmond (6-foot-1, 195 pounds) will likely play safety or outside linebacker at the next level.
"D.J.'s a great kid. He's disciplined and academically sound," Seaman said. "He felt comfortable with the [Liberty] offer. Navy was still not quite there yet and he wanted to get it taken care of. I think he's going to make a huge impact."
Looks like a good get for us. I know we have some good DBs coming back, but we are losing 3 starters, and I'm sure Medic will agree that the shoes of our starting safety will be hard to fill, and hitting is most definately in the job description.
D.J. looks like a solid prospect. Not trying to be a "Debbie Downer", but from his film it looks like he is just ok in covering the pass. Our problem this year was pass defense. IMO, D.J. may eventually grow into a LB in college after his 'Freshman 15' kicks in.
