Highland Springs, Va., native Melquan Weston only played four games as a junior, however he was productive in the little time he spent on the field. Right now he has already picked up his first offer from Division I-AA program Liberty, however with a strong senior campaign some larger profile programs could come knocking.
Liberty is the one school that has already offered Melquan Weston, but the Highland Springs wide receiver has his sights set on larger programs as well. Heading into his senior season the 6-foot-1, 170-pounder is looking to prove that he is a top-flight player capable of making it at the I-A level. We talked to him on Sunday about which schools have been talking to him the most recently.
“I have been hearing a lot from Illinois, Maryland, Vanderbilt, North Carolina and Virginia recently,” Weston said. “They all want the first three games of my senior year and have said they’re highly interested in me because they love my athleticism. The thing that is holding me back is that I only played in four games as a junior, so they need a larger sample to evaluate.”
