We've been watching the fishwrap & Knucklevision websites all day with nothing reported yet. Yeah this is not going to be good exposure for the school or our football program even though both players were no longer on the team when this incident occurred. Let's try and show some class in discussing this topic no matter how ticked this makes you feel.

well that's not a good bit of news with graduation just in the rear view mirror and the one year anniversary of Dr Falwell's passing tomorrow.

What does that have to do with a bar fight?

I just mentioned that based on the timing of this event. Its a terrible thing to hear anytime.

I thought the same thing when I read it, but figured the SJ reality check would come soon enough.

That's almost giving it too much credit. Tipton didn't even last two months at Liberty before he was out of school. Not saying he was never on the team, but he was never really a Liberty person. He couldn't make it here.

Its an unfortunate bit of news nonetheless. You hate to hear about stuff like this especially involving folks that just graduated.

Just so you'll know, the embarassing LU grad behavior over the weekend wasn't limited to footballers. You Charlotte area folks probably heard about the guy in boxers on the news.
This incident should be a testament to what a nasty cocktail that alcohol & testosterone can be especially at night.

Lynchburg Police (web) are confirming the arrest of two former Liberty football players. Steven Ray Lloyd and Tyler Tipton have been charged with simple assault and battery following a fight last Friday night at Buffalo Wild Wings.
The victim tells us he was leaving the restaurant when the two jumped him. He claims several others joined in, and someone stabbed him in the leg during the fight. Police are still investigating. They say additional charges could be filed when the investigation is complete.

Wasn't Tyler an LCA grad as well? I can't say I blame them, I have never found BWW wings very good and it is so frustrating that since it is NAMED WINGS and yet I can think of a dozen better wing places. Yeah, I have wanted to stab someone every once in awhile b/c of it
Interesting that when a former TE was charged with the same crime it didn't make the news. Not suprised, there are always a few in every crowd.

Yes, Tyler graduated from LCA in '04 and went to the Univ. of Pitt and Western Kentucky before making a stop at LU.

Seeing the two involved, can't say I'm surprised.

WSET didn't have all there facts right...Police have confirmed that there was no stabbing... From what I am hearing they didn't get that from the Police report and they will contract that from the 11pm story tonight..

GMTM is correct. The victim at BWs had a stab-like wound and was treated at the ER. But it was not an actual stabbing upon further detection.
This whole deal has left a trail of hurting people both physically & emotionally.
