How many games will we lose this year?

The games I see us having a chance to lose are Western Carolina, Youngstown State, Coastal, and Elon. I don’t see us losing any others, sure we could slip up somewhere, but these are the biggest chance for an “L”.

Along the same lines, how many games do we need to win to make the playoffs?

As with all college football, the number of games we will need to win is arbitrary based on how everyone else does. We need to win the conference and lose no more than 2.

I like your nonjinx of not listing 0 as an option. Well done.

I see one or two, three at the very most: Coastal, Youngstown and Elon. The thing with Elon is that one is going to be at home. Coastal is somewhat down, but we have never beaten them down there. Youngstown is down this year but again, that one is on the road (although the last time we played them in their place we only lost by 10)

What's with the negative vibe?

Wouldn't it be better to ask how many games are we going to win?

Come on, guys. My glass is full.

(( Sorry, I can't add emoticons off the mobile site ))

I don't like us against Elon and Youngstown. We won't sneak up on anyone this year and teams will be gunning for us. I know Rocco will have the boys ready to play but I'm going to go with two losses. We really need to run the table in the Big South this season to make it interesting for playoff seeding, if we get there.

Western Carolina is a shadow of their former selves right now and they weren't much before that.

If you want to be worried, worry about the only team on our schedule that's been to the playoffs twice in the last three years: Lafayette.

You guys are never happy. :D

The only reason I say WCU is a concern is because it's our first road game, and really our first test of the season. They also will have a new coach, and could be geered up and really ready to play.

I say one loss- to Youngstown St.

We will not lose to Elon, book it.

I see what you're saying and I'd probably feel more nervous about it if we were their first home date in '08. If you want to smile, check out who WCU has the week before us.

I like us vs. YSU. The trip to Toledo last year, one we should have won, will be an experience that will be remembered and learned from. We are not invincible, but I like how our team learns from the past, and I think we will be building off of continued momentum from 2nd half of last year. This is part of the "unfinished business" that I think of when we come back to Ohio.

I've been thinking the same thing, mat. The ones that concern me are Coastal -- because it's at their place and we stung their pride last year -- and Lafayette -- because they're a dangerous team to overlook.

LU vs. Coastal will always be good vs. evil, and evil never rests.

The way our schedule shakes down, we're going to need to win at LEAST 9 or 10 I think to even be in the conversation for a playoff berth. a solid win over Lafayette, a win over Youngstown (even though they will be down this year) and a win at Coastal, and avenging the loss to Elon should help our chances.

If we do all of that we WILL be in the playoffs.

You are not graduating many so you should win them all this fall.

Huh??? We just had our largest senior class in school history. Yeah, you're right we're not graduating many.

I think he is referring to our skill positions.

If we are as good as the "hype" we should only lose two and finish 1st in the BSC (But watch out for those hoes!)

Even then, the only "skill" positions we're losing are Wynton and Dominic, yes? Even with those losses, we're replacing them with heralded guys.

I can't understand what you're trying to argue. Our hose friend is saying we didn't graduate many, seems like you want to argue against him, but are saying the same thing. Another brain fart
