I'm planning on going to their spring game this year. Won't we be rebuilding a little in '09 though?

Without Pat White, WVU may be 'rebuilding' a little themselves. You never know though. A lot of times, when teams are supposed to be 'rebuilding' they end up having great seasons b/c many of the backups and newbies really step up. It would be SWEET to go to Morgantown and get the WIN though :)

Keep dreaming. This is a "take yer check and go home" kind of game. Oh, and also pray you come out of it healthy. Rocco has a great relationship with Stewart - that's why the game got done.

ps - Jarrett Brown (White's back-up) is just as good of an athlete, not quite as quick, but a much better thrower. (See Rutgers game on '06). Also, two words for you: Noel Devine.

A little harsh but I agree! Let's not get crazy folks...let's just be glad we can tell future recruits that we're playing these teams and one day hopefully beat them. We just need to try and play well and not get embarrassed...but it's a great opportunity

JK...it's OK to be that harsh though...you're a WVU fan...it's in the blood!

His abilities on the field are just one of the reasons he won't likely be on the field for the Mountaineers in '09.

I think they're trying to say that he'll leave after next season, forgoing his jr. and sr. seasons for the pro's. He mght do that before his senior year, but I think he needs two great years at WVU to make himself a legit 1st round prospect. I'm more than willing to be proven wrong by such an amazing soph year that he keeps WVU in the top 10.

Born in the 'burg but raised in Morgantown. The blood is both red/blue and gold/blue.

Ummm, yeah, I wasn't saying that I thought we'd win--just that it would be nice if we did, lol. As for Jarrett Brown, yep, he's just as good as Pat White AND they have another QB, Brad Starks from Orange County VA that is also a really good athlete. They are looking really good at that position for the next few years IMO. In any case, I'm just excited that LU is scheduling games against big name schools.

The last time LU played a D-I team in West Virginia, we lost 63-3 to the Chad Pennington-led Marshall University's Thundering Herd; let's hope we fair better against the 'Eers.

He still cannot leave. The NFL states that, in order for a player to be eligible for the NFL Draft, he has to wait three years after his high school graduation.

Some of these kids go to prep school after they leave high school so technically if he was in a situation like that, he could leave after his sophomore season. I dont know if he is or not, I just thought that was worth mentioning

Devine went to WVU straight out of high school. No prep school. (There's actually a new graduation rule by the NCAA that is soon going to nullify the benefit of prep schools, making them nearly obsolete for athletic purposes. The rule has something to do with graduation rates being applicable only to four years, or something like that, which would take away the fifth year. I'm not sure.)

Either way, let's get in and get out. No major injuries for us, please. WVU is likely to be a top-25 team and we're going to have to play our guts out to even stay close.

We're probably throwing a rookie QB and some untested players at key positions at them.

I drove to WV for that game. We were bad. My wife accidentaly wore a green and white Liberty sweatshirt to the game. I still make fun of her for that. Might not win but it won't be 63-3.
