The Official I Can't Wait to See [Insert Name] Play Thread

Everyone should know by now, that, aside from my stupid unfounded obsession with Chris Rocco, Tim Layer, and Alannis Morisette, I am really excited about Mike Brown.

Now, this is not a Hate on Brock thread. Brock led a top 5 scoring offense last season, and I see no reason to put him on the bench, he more than earned the right to play his senior year as a starter, a captain, and a leader.

However, I would venture to say we will see Mike Brown on the field this year, and I am very excited about that possibility. This kid, from what I hear, is amazing, and I cannot wait to see him play.

So that brings me to the discussion, what Flames are you excited about seeing play this year, maybe that haven't played yet or who are new arrivals (Redshirts from last year, etc.)?

He is the other guy I was pretty excited about, but didn't wanna put him in my post so that someone else could name him.

There are a couple of others I am sure will come up, too. This is a great year to be a Flame, that's for sure.

I also failed to mention that I'm excited to see Mike play as well. I'm sure he'll at least get some mop up time.

I agree with pretty everyone else's picks here so far ....Mike and "The Florida Boys" (Summers, Hodges, Sanderson, Connolly)...I'm really looking forward to see the ENTIRE TEAM play though. Let the count down to the spring game begin :)

I'm dying to see what Summers looks like. He looked like he was 130 pounds last year.

. . .regarding the Florida boys...

We are hearing that LU does not really think Hodges is still a good fit there.

Some FL players down here at other programs would like to know what you think. How is Connolly and Summers doing?

This is the absolute first I have heard of that in regard to Hodges. I've been given the impression he is heading into the spring with an opportunity to earn a bunch of snaps.

Enjoy keeping track of area (Tampa Bay to Naples to Orlando) players at their respective football programs. Bolden and Calvary had a great year and looking forward to hearing about them next year. Bolden is fun to watch. Bishop seems able to contribute more and more in the years to come. Bailey and Duffy to compete in the crowded backfield. Tassara and Hodges to compete to fill the holes left by LU senior lineman. Connolly and DeArmon getting ready?

We heard a few months ago that LU Football staff was not sure about Hodges. Recently, several players / friends (4) currently at either D-I or D-II programs were checking around to see if true. Time will tell.

Great “CATCH” with WR - Steven Crawford from S. Ft. Myers HS.

PS: Great running backs from the area like N. Devine (N. Ft. Myers) at West VA and C. Rainey (Lakeland) at UF. Watch out for Bolden (Orlando).

Waking this back up...

I am excited about Brandon Saunders. I don't know what his eligibility looks like at this point with his transfer, but if he plays this year, I expect some good things out of him. I think he will have a year like Ryan Best did last year.

Also, I know this sounds weird, but I am excited to see Spencer Landis. I think he will see some time if Brock gets hurt (I hope not) on in blowouts, and I think he will show us a lot of good things.

Aaron Hewlitt, as well, should do some big things if he makes it on the field.

Anyone else see anything at the Spring Game that made them want to see more from a player come August?

Im looking forward to Summers. If he can get his head right and learn a thing or two over the summer, I would like to see him as a third potential deep threat for this team.

I am also very high on Hewlett. He is a very fast, very shifty player who could definitely get a lot of yards in the return game and as an "A-back"
