Is this the same Long Beach Poly that has the most NFL players and is always ranked in the top 25 for the nation

Well, Colorado State recruits VERY heavily in Southern Cal, and they are second on his list on Scouts.
They also have a good eye for linebackers. So if he is good enough for CSU to express some interest, then he is good enough for me.
He is on the list for Fresno, too. So, there ya have it.

It'd be cool to have someone from the LBC at the old LBC.
Its interesting to see us giving so many looks to these JUCOs. We have not worked the JUCO ranks very hard in recent years.

Well, it was just a prep school. He is still just a Soph. coming into this season, and with a redshirt, gives him 3 solid years.

Is this the kid that committed this past weekend? I heard there was a JUCO transfer from CA that is supposed to be coming in this semester and will participate in Spring Ball. I'm assuming this is him??

That appears to be the case. LB is looking less like a concern everyday.
Welcome to the mountain, Doncel.

That's great news! It's always good to get guys in there early. He should be ready to go come August, but then again Rocco loves to red-shirt guys.

Rocco redshirts freshmen. This kid isn't a freshman. He's being gray shirted so I'd expect to see him on the field this fall.

When I was typing that, I knew you were going to say something. I know he red-shirts freshman, but we don't know if he will red-shirt this guy or not. If he's good enough to play, he'll play, if not, he'll redshirt.

Well no...I just think that if I talked about him in detail now there would be no point to really mentioning him in my final writeup

I guess Doncel's JUCO is a Big South target in general. From a Long Beach fishwrap ...

Cerritos College offensive linemen Mike Diaz and Phillip Garcia have both signed letters of intent and are enrolled at the University of Arizona, two of four players from the 2007 team that have signed with four-year schools, according to offensive line coach Tom Caines.
Quarterback A.J. Toscano signed with Charleston Southern in South Carolina and is enrolled at the Football Championship Subdivision, formerly known as Division I-AA, school. Toscano was an all-conference second-team selection.
Sophomore Doncel Bolt, a linebacker from Poly High, has signed with Liberty University in Virginia. Liberty is also an FCS school.

Liberty For Bolt

Cerritos (Calif.) College linebacker Doncel Bolt only needed one year of JC football to earn a scholarship and the SoCal native will head East to play his next three years...
After going offer-less as a senior at Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, linebacker Doncel Bolt went the Juco route and spent his freshman year at Cerritos (Calif.) College.
The one year, and patience from Bolt, paid off this weekend when Liberty tripped him to Virginia and offered him. Bolt didn't need much time to make a decision to attend the Lynchburg, Virg., school.
"Simply to put it, I asked God to show me in the right direction and there is no doubt that Liberty was his response," said Bolt. "Coach (Danny) Rocco is just what i was looking for out of a head coach. He was honest, he wasn't patronizing me and he is a real straight shooter with a ton of experience. I was basically looking for a place to call home, a place where I could focus on educating my mind while developing my spiritual, athletic skills" "
At 6-3, 247, Bolt has exceptional size and speed and he could be an instant impact player for the Flames. That is his hope.

You have to love a 247 pound MLB who can quote Frederick Douglass:
"It'll be tough, but like Frederick Douglass said, 'Without struggle there is no progress.'"
