Today in part three of my 2007 review we look at the speedburners at wide receiver (btw here is the breakdown for the rest of my review):

1/10 WRs & TEs
1/11 OL
1/14 DL
1/15 LBs
1/16 DBs
1/17 K, P, KR and PR

Anyway, on to the WRs:

1. Wynton Jackson (starter)
2. Brandon Turner (starter)
3. Dominic Bolden
4. Jonathan Crawford
5. Eugene Rogers
6. Matt Lambros
7. James Forystek
8. Jason Myers
9. Cedric Sanderson (Redshirt)
10. Chris Summers (Redshirt)
11. Kajuan Lee (Redshirt)

1. Wynton Jackson- The senior did it all for the Flames in 2007, he ran the ball (10 carries for 79 yards, 76 net), he of course caught the ball (led the team in receptions with 46, yards with 641, tied for the team lead in TDs with 6 along with Dominic Bolden *more on him later*), he returned kickoffs, returned punts, you wondered if he would go work concessions in between offensive series.

2. Brandon Turner- If it was not Jackson making big plays catching the ball it was Turner, the senior from nearby Gretna, VA. He finished second behind Wynton Jackson in catches (41), second in yards (536) and third in TDs with 3.

3. Dominic Bolden- After seeing limited action as a freshman, Bolden has blossomed into a #3 target the last two years. This year he finished #3 on the team in catches (24), #3 in yards (415) and tied for the team lead in TDs with Wynton Jackson (6), and serving as the team's #1 kick returner (more on that in the special teams review)

4. Jonathan Crawford- the redshirt junior saw his share of passes (mostly late in games) but still finished #4 among WRs in catches (11) and yards (134)

5. Eugene Rogers
- The redshirt sophomore from GA, appeared in all 11 games, but registered only one catch for 10 yards in 2007.

6. Matt Lambros- Lambros, the only Canadian on the Flames roster, saw action in all 11 games but only caught one pass for 9 yards

These players did not appear in a game for the Flames in 2007:

7. James Forystek
8. Jason Myers

Cedric Sanderson, Chris Summers and Kajuan Lee were redshirted in 2007.

With Jackson and Turner both graduating, look for some interesting battles throughout the receiving corps in 2008

Now for the TEs:

1. Chris Luck (starter)
2. Richard Thom
3. Mike Tyson (no jokes please)
4. Will Quarles
5. Corey Rasberry (redshirt)
6. Ricky Jenkins (redshirt)
7. Thomas Shaver (redshirt)

1. Chris Luck- did not see much in the passing game but did finish with 8 catches for 175 yards and 2 TDs (tied for 4th on the team overall)

2. Richard Thom- Appeared in 8 games in 2007, but registered only one catch for 7 yards.

3. Mike Tyson- Did not register a catch in 2007.

4. Will Quarles- Did not register a catch in 2007

5. Corey Rasberry- After serving as #3 TE the first three years, Rasberry was redshirted in 2007

6. Ricky Jenkins- Did not play in 2007 (redshirt)

7. Thomas Shaver- Did not play (redshirt)

I will take care of that soon enough...he was listed on the roster as a WR so that is why I put him with the WRs

I dont recall. I know he was the #3 or 4 QB when he came in, then he started practicing at WR a couple years ago when Brock came in, but I dont remember him ever trying DB

Sources tell me Sanderson and Summers are absolutely awesome in practice and gave our 1st D more than they wanted from their redhirted, scout team receiver positions, making spectacular grabs on a regular basis. Look for some fireworks from these guys.

that's definitely something to look forward to!

Next season can't come soon enough.

how long 'til the Spring game?

I could see a Crawford and Bolden at the 1 and 2 WR spots with Summers and Sanderson coming in for either 3 or 4 wide sets (and of course there is Lambros and Rogers as well so we have options for 5 WR sets)

What's the deal with Corey Rasberry?
