The big question is, how did Sly miss this bit of Texas news? And will Sly be pulling for Texas or Vince's USA team?
Another Flame, linebacker Vince Redd, was invited to participate in the Texas vs. USA post-season all-star game Feb. 2 in El Paso, Texas.

Redd will be on the "nation" squad, which will be coached by former NFL coach Buddy Ryan. Former Alabama and NFL coach Gene Stallings will coach the Texas team.

Games that occur in El Paso don't really seem like they are still in Texas. Sorry bozlady. But if I can drive on the same freeway 900 miles and not still be there it is tough to get excited about the game.

The article didn't mention a location, but I'm guessing Vince will get to play in the Sun Bowl on UTEP's campus. Will this game be televised outside of the Lone Star State?

FSN carried it last year so I guess they will again.

Wow, it really must be dropping in stature from a television ratings perspective.

But these games are great opportunities to impress scouts. We had two of them in Houston last year.

Texas vs the Nation has always been on CSTV since, well, CSTV is the one who puts it on. This is only the second year they've had it.

evidently a new annual classic? the "don't mess with Texas challenge"

currently early in the 1st quarter- starting QB for the Nation is RASCATTI from JMU, Stokes in as RB (App St) and I also saw a CSU helmet lined up back there

great to see the FCS guys lined up along side the "big boys"

(Rascatti playing very well: 2-2, both first down throws)

 WELL!!! I never!!!!

But you're right.....TEXAS is a nation in in of itself - it's soooo BIG.. . . . . but have you ever driven from West Texas to East Texas?!!!! WOW!! That's an all day ride and I've lost count at how many oil drills we spotted throughout the trip.

They don't have the roster posted yet, at least not the last time I checked.

If Vince can impress Buddy Ryan, he's doing alright. Let's hope he gets in with some coaches out there.
