Isn't Dematha really good every year? Or is that basketball.

Basketball--but if we can get our foot in the door (so to speak) with football recruiting, maybe McKay and company can march right on in with some strong basketball recruiting at the same school.

Seems like we have no problem recruiting OL. Must be Gillespie.

DeMatha is easily one of the top high school basketball schools in the country. They were coached by the great Morgan Wooten (who actually has a part in the book that LU uses for coaching basketball class). My mom went to Anacostia High School in DC and Im sure those two played each other even when she was in school. Im not sure who coaches at DeMatha now though.

No, BJ, he actually wrote the book that they use for Coaching Basketball.

That's what I thought. I didn't want to come out and say he wrote it and turn out to be wrong so I hedged my bets and mentioned he at least had a part in it (Even though it turned out that I was wrong anyway). I figure if youre the winningest high school coach in America than you would be able to write the book on coaching basketball successfully

What, LU doesn't use Hankinson's books in it's basketball coaching classes?

Well, if we ever had
graduate level courses in coaching basketball, maybe.

The defensive course would be 8 semesters, and you only get 80% through the sylabus.

Come on, guys. This is the football forum and we need to start letting this all go no matter which forum.

Man, I love how we always have to let everything on this board go at a certain point just because one person says so. Gotta love how because this is the Liberty message board there's like police for everything. Tighten up guys or somebody might get offended.

well being that sly started flamefans and has put a lot of time and money into it, i think he has the right. and it is true, the crap about RD, hanky, karcher..it does get old. they are gone and there is no reason to keep trashing them and bringing their name up. now to talk about htis recruit. dematha has always had a good football program and has sent quite a few players to UVA and maryland. i sure hope this guy does good things for LU

I love how out of your 63 posts that probably 40 of them have been whining about something. The dude owns this board. It's not public property.

Excuse me LUCONN if I don't post up to your standards. And, NO not 40 of my posts have been whinning about something. During football season I was a frequent contributor discussing future and past opponents as well as the Flames and their progression. And seeing as how all you have to do to post on this board is sign up, the internet in a lot of ways is hardly what I would consider private property. I guess I should have expected less from some people on this board than I did originally. Man, if you guys get this bent out of shape about stuff like this I have NO idea how you survive outside of the Liberty bubble. From now on, maybe I need to send all my posts to LUCONN for a seal of approval first. Wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes, after all this board doesn't belong to the FANS of Liberty, it IS private property.

I think it's just that nobody likes you. I can't imagine why. You contribute so much. Then again, I'm just a big fan of passive-aggressive guilt trips and misspelled verbs.

No, here's the deal though:
This is a privately owned website meaning one, maybe two people pay for the server, the domain name, etc. Because of this, those people can set up rules and put people in place to moderate the forum. It's been asked that we let go of the jokes and shots at our former coaches. We have to "obey" those requests or a) our posts will be deleted, b) the threads will be locked, or c) you'll be banned. That's how things work. As much as you don't want to realize it, FlameFans.com is private property. You must obey the rules sent down from the owner, or you have to leave. It's just like any other place in America.

Dude do you EVEN KNOW ME? ISN'T LIBERTY A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL? I mean since when are Christians who just happen to disagree incapable of not loving each other the way Christ called us to. I mean I work for a boss who's lifestyle TOTALLY goes against God's word, but I'm still called to love him like my brother. I don't agree with some people on this board, most of them I do agree with. But, if totally disrespecting someone because their opinion is slightly or vastly different than most is TOTALLY wrong. During my time at Liberty, I loved being a fan of the Flames. But, if this is what being a Liberty supporter has grown to, count me out. I love Liberty, and I love Liberty athletics, but I don't enjoy being disrespected by people who are suppossed to be working together to make a difference in the world. It's a good thing this board isn't affiliated with Liberty, because the school itself is better, much better, than the way you guys are acting.

Nope. Am I called to that, too?

This is what I'm talking about. Don't go all SLD on me. Stand up and grow a pair.
Wait a second, I feel a chorus of "Cumbaya" coming on.
.....
.....
Nope, it was just gas.

Hey, I didn't say I owned the board. The guy telling you to pipe down does. Everything about this board comes out of his pocket (except for Scorcho's free labor). So if he tells you to cool it on the RD talk, you either should do that or maybe put some money into your own site. Also, I'm surviving just fine. Thanks for your thoughts and concerns.

Where did that come from? Half of it didn't make sense. Who disrespected you? No one said anything that was out of line.
This isn't a Faith Christian School message board. We're all adults here.

Ok "cool kid" with the GI Joe I'm stuck in 8th grade avatar with his ridiculous nobody likes you, you don't contribute anything comment. That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about. And telling me to grow a pair b/c I'm acting like an SLD? Dude, I seriously hope that you DO NOT ACTUALLY GO TO LIBERTY. Because if you do, you're TOTALLY MISSING EVERYTHING THAT SCHOOL IS DOING TO TRY TO REACH YOU SPIRITUALLY. If you guys want to set certain rules about who and what we can talk about on this board that's fine, it doesn't mean we have to agree with them, we just have to follow them. That's a lot like anything else. But bashing on people for expressing their opinion is WRONG. It's one thing to do it in jest, like a lot of you guys do to B.J. But, to tell someone to grow a pair and say that's why no one likes you, when I'm pretty confident that you don't know ONE thing about me is out of place. I expected more out of people who claim to be fans of a Christian school. And we wonder why people are turned off by Christianity.
So much for...they will know us by our love.

Now that's more like it.
All I heard after that was blah blah blah convo speak blah blah blah.
By the way,
'LOVE' DOES NOT EQUAL 'LIKE'.
The all-caps part was for your benefit. You seem fond of it.
