Liberty University- 2007 Big South Conference Football Champions!

Now...we were sold "Good to Great" as the theme for the year. How would you classify it?

Definitely better. If we'd beat W&M (or Toledo) and Elon, then I'd say Great.

You guys obviously weren't there for the Ken Karcher era. Anything where we can actually go above 500 is a huge success.

we are far from great...but we are getting better, and that is all I ask...with the previous coaching staff our program seemed to get worse every year....we are heading in the right direction....

Good to Better.....

If it wasn't for the "Inches" game at W&M, Elon, and Toledo, we'd be hopping mad for the playoffs!

Ehh, it was a lot more than inches at Elon. W&M was definetly close as was Toledo.

I'd accept a loss to Elon, but losing close games (in this case to W&M and Toledo) is not what great teams do. Great teams find a way to either come back or hold on for the win in close games.

I would say good to better, but not quite great yet. We finished strong with the blowouts and should have won vs William and Mary and Toledo. Our offense was great but our defense started out poorly but played very well in conference play. Today the D was awesome.

a playoff game would be a great way to redeem ourselves for those early losses :D

Are you freaking kidding me? The night of our first Big South Championship and you're starting a thread like this. No wonder half the people in charge hate this board.

I think that's a great reason to start this thread....I voted good to great...b/c IMO our first Big South title is a GREAT season

and I voted "better" because we were good to start out and got better.

No- we haven't got to GREAT yet, but we're well on our way and I'm as proud as ANYONE of the job the guys and coaches have done this year.

It's the night of the biggest win of the program and you guys are basically saying, "Well, it didn't live up to our expectations but uh, I guess we'll take it."

Grow up.

We just destroyed this conference like it no one ever has before and we're saying things didn't live up to expectations. Good job guys. Way to go.

ok i will respond to this seriously...

I don't think that is what this thread is about...we are all encouraged with how this program is improving, but there is still room to grow and become "great"....

i reason why many people don't like this board is because people "in charge" jump all over anybody that could possibly be critical...yet that isn't even what is going on here...

I am so proud of our team as is everybody on this board....

this thread had nothing to do with what you said it did SJ....be happy man, we just WON THE BIG SOUTH!!!!

you're way off base on this one, kiddo :nono

go get some sleep- when you wake up in the morning; re-read the thread.

and Coastal would probably disagree with the second part of your little rant :D

Wow. That definetly wasn't my intention in starting this thread. If you read the top line, it is pretty obvious I was excited about the result of the season. Reading through the thread, I didn't see any negative comments. Don't worry, SJ! We are all on the same team!

We came back from adversity (The Elon game) and stuck it to the Big South in a big way and nearly pulled off the biggest win in the programs history (The Toledo game). That is a sign of greatness. But you have to look at the whole season and I would rate it as good. Now if we make the playoffs (Still hoping) that would certainly bump things up a whole new level.
