In your opinion looking at all the teams ahead of us and their upcoming schedule, what is your honest opinion of how we will do?

Given the damage that VMI did to our GPI, I'd give us a 0-5% chance and that's only if all those 6 D-1 win teams poop the crib this weekend.

I'm agreeing with RTF about the GPI. VMI pulled us down an entire point. That's bad. Still a shot, just not feeling as good after seeing the GPI.

GPI is the most accurate computer system in terms of the playoffs for FCS football. Most of the playoff consideration was based on us moving up 5-6 spots and other teams in front of us dropping. According to what came out last night, we dropped a full point even though we blew out VMI.

VMI HS really killed us. This is when I begin to harp on the big south in football. It kills us!

and Gardner Webb is 64 in the GPI....so not a team that will help us in the GPI....so our hopes are really shrinking....still a shot i suppose....but a long shot

It wasn't that long ago we were killing Coastal's GPI. What needs to happen is Stony Brook needs to keep getting better, Coastal has to get back to close to normal Coastal, and we have to stay good. That'll be three good teams out of seven next year. If LU and CCU can be good, SBU better than average, and G-W and PC average, we'll be in decent shape. VMI and Chuck South are always going to bring us down.

So we need the Chickens to get better not the Kangaroos! Got it!

Oh, we need VMI to get better, but it's not happening until VMI changes Institution Rules. There's a reason Navy, Air Force, and The Citadel are doing good and Army and VMI aren't. I was talking about strictly for next year.

I am not getting my hopes up for something that I am pretty sure is not going to happen (Playoffs). We blew it when we lost to Toledo. That was our last chance to save us from our earlier losses and it didn't happen. If we could have won at Toledo we are likely in. We haven't beaten anyone good but even witht he blowout wins. With the playoff committee it is usually who you beat and not by how much.

Isn't the Big South closing in on getting an automatic bid based on the number of teams joining the conference? Conferences only need like 7 or 8 teams don't they? Wouldn't the champ get an automatic bid in another couple of years?

You need 6 teams together in the same conf for 2 years before it youre eligible for the auto bid.

Im guessing well see an expansion of the FCS playoffs soon but thats just a hunch

Ohhh 6-7?? Man, wrap it up then 😭
