I am going to get raked over the coals for this, but here it goes anyway.

IF the interception in OT at W&M wouldn't have been dropped and the coaches hadn't decided to go against what was working and throw the ball all over the place at the end of the Toledo game, we would be 9-1 right now.

What are the chances we would be talking about the playoffs right now?

If ifs & buts ...

I agree we were ridiculously close to an unbelievable year. But our first conference title will ease some of the pain if we can win in Boiling Springs.

There is still a chance we make the playoffs.

A Blow-out at G-W would help, a lot.

Nah. But I think we'd hold our own if given such a chance.

You're saying there isn't a chance?

I am pretty sure there is. It isn't a big chance, but we should be near the 20-25 rage overall in the polls, maybe higher, so who knows...

I mean, technically, yes there is a chance. I just don't believe we actually have a shot at it, though. There are too many other schools with the same record that will get in before we will. We've still got to beat GW, though.

Lefty, they only take 16 teams--8 conference champions and 8 at-large bids. Everyone says you need 7 DI-AA wins, which we won't have, even if we beat G-W.

I highly doubt we'd get in, but if we did, I think we'd be one of the most dangerous teams in the field.

I completely understand.

I still think we have an outside shot.

Probably would have had a better shot if G-W hadn't lost today.

Not to be the party killer here, but I say there's no way the Flames get in the playoffs with two 1-AA losses. Especially, when you consider who the losses were to, and how those teams have done this season, particuarly the last few weeks.

There is a very small chance we can still make it. Not counting on it happening though. If we would have gotten one more win, we could seriously question it. 2 more, and I think we would be pretty close to a shoe-in. No need to regret anything, the guys have played amazing the last 4 games.
