Last home game of the year on Saturday....This week if you stop by any Apple Market you can pick a 2 for 1 discount coupon for the VMI game...Great deal and good opportutnity for everyone to save money and show some support for the program...The game sponsor is WSET and they will have promos all week long...Let's finish the season out with a bang!!!!

I kept hearing them saying come out next week for the record crowd....is this realistic at this point???

Locals who recognize the VMI game.

It's the perfect storm.

VMI will have over 1,000 people here and with the way we are playing I can't imagine the students not showing back up again....There will be many people here to because it's Senior day

but this cfaw won't have 1300...thats what we had last time and the concert was switchfoot....todd agnew isn't exactly somebody high school students want to hear...

Kevin told me they were expecting that many CFAW on campus when I was talking to him the other day.

really?? wow...thats cool....surprising...I am not a fan of using todd agnew type artists to "recruit" students....but our football environment should help...

I think it is very possible to set the record for all the reasons mentioned. VMI travels as well as anyone in the state. This is gonna be fun.

We'll easily have 1300 at CFAW.

Yes they do. And with what the Coastal fans thought of our student section, I'm dying to see how the WPR's react.

Is it true they're moving the visitor's section over to the Baptist side? It makes sense as to why they'd do it, I just haven't heard anyone confirm it.

I haven't heard anything about it. Wouldn't surprise me to see a change next year. The students need the space anyway, and we've got a little to spare on our side. Might even do the quiet folks some good to have the away crowd talking smack.

I think it's needed for Saturday. The cadets do not need to be next to our students. That's just asking for trouble. They tried starting crap with a bunch of our kids after we beat them in basketball at Cameron Hall last year.

It's also push the Baptist side together since people tend to spread out over there.

If the Keydets sit on the same side as our students, I hope the LUPD has their own riot gear, because that could be a potentially dangerous situation.

I even remember the problems we had on the Baptist side 2 years ago with some VMI alumni--those old Keydet alums hate to lose and don't like it when our fans give it to them. Saturday should be interesting, to say the least.

I think moving the visitor's section is also good for all the reasons stated...especially the one about the VMI cadets and our students together is just asking for trouble. There were problems during the Big South bball tourney. I think very highly of VMI and the Corps there, and I think very highly of our own student population, but a person's passion for his/her team can override clear thinking.

The Keydets are trained for battle--which means to kill people--and I'm sure that they can only take so many chants of "West Point Rejects." Eventually, somebody is going to come unglued, and then it's really going to get ugly.

On a related note, I remember when one of our Quiz Bowl guys asked a VMI Keydet if he wanted to complete against LU's Sword Fighting Club. Then the Keydet said when they sword fight, they use real swords (not ones made of PVC pipe & duct tape).

new rule...there will be no talk of this sword fighting club on flame fans....it makes us all look stupid!
