Theme for this week:
Beat Coastal.
It's simple, and to the point. We'll be hearing it all week.
Beat Coastal.

I know, I know: Any Given Saturday
but MAN, they barely got by a BAD VMI team today. Hoping this isn't a much of a challenge for us after we get the monkey off our back this year.

Bad team or not, it'd still be a big win next week. They've only lost one conference game since 04.

We shouldn't have any problem with Coastal since it seems things have gone from bad to worse this year for them. They lost to Presby and barely squeeked by a very bad VMI team. They did give GA Southern a good game though but that was early in the year.

When we
shouldn't have any problem with a team is when things can be the most dangerous. They may be having a down year, but if we don't stay focused, we can still be knocked off at home.

Are they going to be handing out the red beat coastal shirts like Sparky had on? I hope so, I would love to have one for next week.

if they don't want to give them out for free, i think if they charged $2 a shirt a ton of people would buy. they wouldn't take that big of a hit cause they'd get a good deal with the quantity they'd buy. i think giving out shirts is a great idea though

GMTM saying get there early to find out, plus the shirts having a HUGE Universal T's add on the back, equals good chance they're giving them out.

I created an event on Facebook for it. SJ, I invited you and plan on making you an admin for the event because I know you can mobilize a whole boatload of people for this one

They haven't lost a conference game yet this year, so technically, they're still in first.

There are two things they should promote NON-STOP this week:
WEAR RED.
BEAT COASTAL.
I have already seen banners and signs up around town. It should be incredible.
Dare I say we may have the largest crowd in LU history THIS weekend?
Jon, you seem to have some connections - we need to have the L-U signs they used at the beginning in use ALL game. Forget our crappy soundtrack, we should be doing that (CRAP, red sox just won the world series.) every time-out, break, etc. That was deadly. My parents and some friends were up for the weekend, and they mentioned that specifically as something that really stuck out.
I am so pumped!

The other parts of the Beat Coastal stuff should be great, but I don't know what's public and what's not. I know they're working on a video simply because a guy came over and filmed us on Saturday.
As for the L-U, that's the responsibility of the cheerleaders. You can't expect the Student Flames Club to lead cheers for an entire game, can you?

i dont expect them too, but for now, it's all we've got, and until the cheerleaders pick it up, i say why the heck not?
or
give the signs to the cheerleaders.
wouldn't it be better then cotton eyed joe?

At 7:36 people are talking about Beat Coastal because of the sheets hung around campus and the message boards. This is going to great.

Even the flashing police parking sign as you enter campus says, "Beat Coastal."
