Just thought this would be a good time to throw up

the current stats before we (are projected to) have our most heavily attended game in history.
Ranked by average per home game:
Ranked by average capacity percentage filled:
It'll be interesting to see what these numbers look like next Sunday.

Stony Brook's math doesn't add up.

I think it has been established that the NCAA is using a faulty stadium capacity number in their tabulations.
I'm more impressed with the overall attenance than the stadium capacity numbers. What we have done thus far is spectacular and it will be even more amazing when we see next week's numbers. A number of the HBCUs have inflated numbers early on in the season due to Classics but now that everything is being evened out we are looking very nice.

Their old stadium seats 3000ish. Their new one seats like 8500.

the number they're using for the math is a capacity of 2000. But the actual number that is listed on that spread sheet is 6000. Sounds like they tried to get it updated but failed.

The numbers listed on the spreadsheet for Stadium capacity are after being multiplied by the number of games played ie: LU is 36,000 or 12,000 x 3 games. It looks like they are dividing Stony Brook's attendance in their new stadium by the capacity of the old one to get the 315% figure when actually, if the new digs seat 8500, they are below 100%.

so are numbers are up from last season im guessing? here is a point to ponder we had 15k for homecoming last year and we're averaging 13k now so if we get 20k for home coming this year (enter fuzzy math computation) we could average 15k next season? or do you guys think we have hit a ceiling as far as regular attendance goes?
id love to see the program expand the bill to around 17k or so and see us pack it out every game with our own tv network playing predominantly top 15 fcs programs (especially jmu wm richmond maybe gtown ) it would really be valuable in moving forward if we could say we had the top attendance in the state for fcs

Sorry, got stuck on that one line. Georgetown is quite possibly in the bottom five teams of FCS football.

LU, update this next week. Will definitely be interesting to see. Nice to be averaging over capacity afer playing two D2's and a partial scholly team. Now the more recognizable teams come in and homecoming, watch out!

thats why i said maybe gtown...to seperate them from the group of jmu wm and richmond...i think it would equally as valuable for fan base to play teams that are household names as far as schools go as much as it would to play quality but lesser known nationally type opponents
the alumni base is spread far around the country and unfortuneatly as big of a deal as it would be to play a school like app state people outside of the south would not have a clue if they were casual fans who app st was without the mich. game
playin a gtown harvard umass
take alook at other sports-- when the hockey team plays a school like duke the casual fan has no clue that duke hockey is a joke but they recognize the name bc of some other notoriety that school has and they take note...
the diehards like us will continue to show at the games almost despite the product for football but filling the stands when we are in a down year which will happen eventually is going to take more than shippensburg st. francis

Well, this preemptive thread certainly backfired. We'll most likely slowly sink down the ranking the rest of the season. This was probably our last shot for a big increase

Teams 4 and 5 have only had 1 home game....i hope you have to meet a minimum of like three home games by years end to actually count these %....because one home game at this point in the year is just stupid.

I had wondered about that. I figure that they played one game at a different stadium than normal. Like if we played once per year at City Stadium, I wonder if that would make it on there.

with every passing week, we get pushed further down the average attendance list. We just can't keep up with some of these programs. At least we'll always have percent of capacity going for us.

Somewhere right around 90k, after this last game would be just unreal if we got that many people in the Bill this year.

I like the fact that we compare favorably to JMU
