Didn't see the game, but they sounded good on the radio: Vince Redd and Chuck Duffey both get INTs.

Impressive showing especially in the second half. We left some points on the board in the first and put them away in the second. After a rocky start the defense really came through with turnover after turnover and made them pay. We beat Chuck South worse than Wofford or Citadel did. Impressive.

The only negatives I can think of was Noah's kicking and the pass coverage early on but we must have made some adjustments at the break.

The kicking is apparently due to the poor feild, sand based grass, and he wouldn't have much exposure to that.

Penalties and Brock's passing early in the game were the things that concerned me

^^ A little more of my opinion up there.

I have no complaints after halftime. The LU on the field then was fantastic.

The holding penalties in the first half were pretty ridiculous. We didn't need to hold with the yards Rashad was gobbling up.

The defense took the 1st quarter off, but after that we got to see a new side of them. That was great. More of that!

A 40 point win on the road is pretty rockin'. It's a great day to be a Flame.

One more thing...

Since I was watching the video feed, I was listening to CSU radio for the game. At the end, their announcers had this discussion...
So where would you rank Liberty with the teams we've seen so far this season?

Right behind Wofford, and not by much. This team is very impressive. They've got the speed and most of the strength that Wofford had. They're very good.
They might be a little off, but hey, it's nice to hear such things. :)

Thats right the holding calls in the red zone. Not a factor in a blowout situation but certainly in a tight game it would have been major. Brock didn't have to pass that much due to Rashaad and Zach doing so well.

It feels good to lay down a beating on a conference opponent for a change. We have a history of making these games closer than they should be. Perhaps we are turning the corner. Next week's game should be a dandy aqnd I can't wait to get to the Bill.

Well, assuming that the Elon loss was simply us not showing up, and not a true showing of our talent, you could argue we are almost as good as Wofford or Citadel based on how explosive the offense has been and how opportunistic the defense has been. Wofford lost to Elon today, so they aren't unbeatable, I think we could compete with Wooford for 60 minutes of football.

Yeah, it's impossible to really make comparisons without a few games, but I was just really happy to hear us be impressive to our opponents. Especially on the road. It's such a refreshing change.

It would be tough for a team to not respect us at this point. It's not going to just be "Oh we can pass the ball on them and outscore them". We have proven that the we don't just roll over and die when faced with a passing attack. We run the ball, eat the clock, and make big plays on defense.

Something I also picked up on CSU radio on the "trick" snap and fake to ZT that got us a 1st down...
Well obviously if there's no QB back there and they're snapping to him, you know it's not going to be a passing play.
I know Zach isn't the QB anymore, but has everyone forgotten that he was a part-time QB last season? Maybe we should let him have a pass once in a while.

With all due respect, your guys played great. However, 2 kicks were blocked, and one was tipped that inched over the crossbar in the first half....now you can say that was due to a poor field, but let's be honest....

If you guys play like that the rest of the way, you'll have similar results. Liberty's running game is grind-it-out terrific; the defense forced us into a lot of bad plays. We shot ourselves in the foot a number of times too, penalties, bad throws right to defenders, etc. Once we got down 2 scores, we don't have the offensive prowess to come back against a good team.

Hey I looked for you but nobody hollered out to me--I'd a taken a shot of you!

I blame it 75% on the grass, and will stand by that. Noah has been a very solid kicker this year, and it is obvious he was off his game. We have yet to play a game on real grass, and he doesn't practice on real grass. That has to make a difference.

Elon has grass, but Noah didn't get much work in that day.
