The other night I heard Wynton Jackson say that the O-Line did a s*&%%y job Saturday against Elon. That was one of the reasons why we did so bad running......But, the O-line gave up only one sack!!!!

I know there is a PARADOX in this statement......

They need to get it together, especially being composed of several IA transfers

The O-Line did get dominated against Elon, the line was collapsing pretty much every play. I was listening to the radio during the second half--the comparisons between our OLine and their DLine were laughable. We average something close to 6'5, 300lbs. with our line and there was something close to 6'2, 240. That comes down to determination, who wants it more. In a case where we had around a 60lbs. advantage, we should have got a little push.

And that's 60 pounds per person, which maybe is like JDUB pushing around Super--which should never happen.

Could it be that they didn't respect the passing game and kept eight or nine guys near the line?

From Chris' LU Notebook:
Line shifts

In its first two games, Liberty's offensive line combined for three penalties, and two of those were called on tight end Chris Luck.

In the last two weeks, as the level of competition has climbed, so have the number of penalties called on the Flames' front line. Against Elon and William & Mary, Liberty was flagged for eight offensive-line penalties, including four false starts, three holding penalties and a personal foul.

That's one potential reason a line shakeup is in the works. Rocco didn't say he was making any changes to the starting lineup, but he wants to get more work for reserves Zach Davis, Bryan Mosier and Mario Cosby (E.C. Glass).

All will see extended work at guard and center Saturday.

"They had an opportunity to play last week and did a solid job," Rocco said. "I want them to get an opportunity to play this week, earlier in the game, when the game is still very much in balance."

I think the biggest thing at center is getting the backup some experience in case Mike gets hurt. Mike had to come out after a stinger this past Saturday, and the backup hadn't played much this year.

Mike got another stinger in practice tues., but went on and Wed. was ok. Sore through the neck though. Rub some dirt on it, it'll be alright.
