as referenced in the flames club tent thread, a student bus will be going to elon. here is the info:
Flames Club,
Thanks to everyone who went down to Williamsburg to support our team in a thrilling, yet heart-breaking, 48-41 double-OT loss to William & Mary. We had nearly 2,000 fans in attendance, in what was certainly one of LU's largest crowds for an away game.
Tickets are on sale now for $15 for this Saturday's (9/22) 1:30 Football game at Elon in Burlington NC. Tickets are also on sale for $10 for the tailgate meal in the Flames Tent featuring pulled pork BBQ, fried chicken, baked beans, corn on the cob, rolls, and brownies for dessert. The Flames Tent meal begins at 11:30 and ends at 1:00, and is limited to the first 125 tickets sold. The Flames Tent will be located on the Firehouse Fields on the Elon campus, and game tickets will be distributed there until 1:00, or at the Visiting Team Will Call after that time. We also have tickets available for $5 on the Student Flames Club bus, which will begin loading from LU East Campus at 8:30 and depart at 9:00. Bus tickets are limited to the first 47 passengers. Game/Meal/Bus tickets can be purchased separately or in a package for $30. Call 434-582-SEAT, e-mail Tickets@Liberty.edu, or visit the Flames Ticket Office to purchase. Come down to Elon, be sure to wear red, and help cheer on the team as they look to improve to 3-1 on the season!
The next Flames Club Luncheon will be held on Friday, September 28, at 12:00 in the Williams Football Operations Center (FOC). Football Coach Danny Rocco will provide an early season update, and preview the next evening’s game against St. Francis PA. Men’s Basketball Coach Ritchie McKay will review the team’s recent trip to Canada, and offer a glimpse of what to expect in his first season on the bench. Men’s Soccer Coach Jeff Alder will also speak and discuss the team’s strong start to the season. The buffet menu for the Luncheon will include fried chicken, mac & cheese, green beans, tossed salad, and apple cobbler. Tickets are $10, or $8 if purchased by 5:00 on Mon, September 24, and seating is limited to 120 guests. There is a $2 cover charge for those attending but not purchasing the buffet meal. Tickets may be purchased by calling 582-SEAT, e-mailing Tickets@liberty.edu, or by visiting the Flames Ticket Office. Season Tickets may be purchased for $56 for the remaining eight luncheons in the series, with the schedule as follows: Fri, 9/28; Fri, 10/26; Fri, 11/9; Thu, 1/10; Thu, 2/7; Thu, 3/27; Thu, 4/10; and Thu, 5/8. The Luncheons are again sponsored by UBS Financial Services, with door prizes provided by the LU Bookstore.
Due to some renovations in the FOC Ticket Office, the Flames Ticket Office is temporarily back in Hancock. We will notify you when it has moved back to the FOC later this week.
Please make note of the following upcoming home athletics contests:
Our Volleyball team (8-5) will look to continue their strong start to the season as they battle in-state rival James Madison at 7:00 on Tuesday, 9/18.
Our Men's Soccer team will put their 4-1 record on the line when they face Longwood at 4:00 on Wednesday, 9/19.
Thanks for supporting the Flames!
