Mike Godsil earned the nickname as a freshman. He graded out higher than any offensive lineman in his first start at center at Liberty, leading former Flames coach Ken Karcher to rave about Godsil's passion.

Thanks Sly. Mike has really grown a lot in terms of maturity in his two-plus years here. Everybody talks about the three FBS guys, but Godsil is a huge reason why that line has success. Seemed to be the right time to write that story.

Hey, it was Hursky and Pinigis who let the "Passion of the Godsil" out of the bag. Blame them.
