FYI: UD running back Omar Cuff scored 7 TD's against William & Mary last night!

The W & M defense appears to be similiar to last year. However, their passing game seems to have improved quite a bit.

We should know by game-3, how far we've progessed, and what our potential is for this season.

Just thought that I'd pass that on, since I happened to be in Williamsburg last night and had a chance to catch the first three quarters of the game.

Phillips and the passing game was impressive for W & M. Their wideouts are very good, especially #4.

....didn't intend to step on SJ's delicate toes

We started a game 3 thread before game 1 or 2 :dontgetit . Hopefully the players won't take this same approach, but I'm not too worried about that with Rocco at the helm.

Is there a Paradox / SJ issue? I never would have guessed that one.

Do the first two even count... just kidding

The bottom line is that the William & Mary game will be a good barometer for LU in terms of growth and overall progress. It should gauge our potential for success this season, especially since we came out on the losing end of a winnable game last year. Our first two games against D2 competiton are nothing more than warm-ups.

I know dox, and I understand where you are coming from. I just don't want to overlook these first two games. I know the team won't, and I don't want to either.

Dox - Give us a Liberty perspective on the stadium and the atmosphere last night.

From what I saw in the boxscore it looks like W & M can't stop the run or the pass but their offense is good. Delaware had 280 yards rushing and over 200 passing. Rashaad should have a field day against these guys like he did last year and we should score more than 30 points. No problem at all looking ahead since this would be our first legitimate test and a good barometer in which to cast judgement on the programs improvement. Hopefully the division 2 competition won't soften us up kind of like last year when we came into Towson after 2 straight div 2 opponents.

It's a great atmosphere there for a 1AA game. The fans pretty much stayed with it for the first three quarters of the game, eventhough you could tell fairly early that it wasn't going to be their night. I left after the third quarter. Zable Stadium looked to be around a half to three quarters full. I think it holds around twenty-K, so their should be plenty of seats available for LUers come game time.

Zable's is a small, "cozy" (ie., old, tight, don't move your elbows) stadium. Listed capacity is 12,000+ but that was before they put the videoboard in where one section of end zone stands used to be.
The stadium record is 18,000 for a homecoming game vs Richmond in 1985. That sounds like Baptist math to me though.
