Lang deserves a Pulitzer...

...for his article about Coach Danny Rocco in the Lynchburg paper this morning. It's the cover story of the college football insert with a great pic of Coach Rocco on the top of the stadium steps holding a football. But since it was in insert, I can't find a link to it on the N&A's website.
The article opens with Rocco's now famous quote about it being 10 degrees hotter on the practice field in Myrtle Beach than in Lynchburg, but Coastal Carolina has 3 conference trophies and LU doen't have any. The article is entitled "How Danny Rocco changed the culture of football at Liberty Univesity" and should be required reading for any FF members.

have you seen their website? That's not likely. It's not the most sophisticated.

Lang references our school
fight song in the article. Does anyone know the words to it, besides "Fan the Flames"?

Fan the Flames. Fan the Flames.
Fan the Flames of Liberty.
Fan the Flames. Fan the Flames.
Fan the Flame to Victory.
Fan the Flames, and be true
To the red, white, and navy blue
Let the fire in your name
Set the spirit aflame
Win a victory for ol LU.
All by memory.

Manson, I'm trying ... I've talked to our web guy, and he knows we want it up there in some form.

Exactly. While Lang deserves a Pulitzer, the webmaster deserves a Howitzer. Come on dude! Don't leave me hanging like that.

I hope not ... we had four different people proof the print version, so if it ended midsentence, I'm going to be upset. Glad to see someone finally put the stories up.
Just looked at the online version, and it's missing half the story. They forgot to add the jump.

Knucklehead - The fishwrap links are so long that they don't fit properly on our board. So by going to TinyURL.com you can get a link that fits our board.
Very nice work, Chris.

It's still missing half. That bums me out since I didn't get a copy of the insert today.

Andy and I both asked the desk to fix it, to no avail. I can't tell you how much our web site frustrates us.

Scorcho. I'll put my copy in my backpack and bring it. If you see a bald guy with a red shirt and credentials around his neck up by the TV truck ask me and I'll get it for you!
