Someone may move this to Other Sports, but maybe we could pull this play out if we get in a tight spot this year. Pretty clever....what do you think?

Very cool. I think our only chance to pull this off may be against the Blue Hose. Don't ask me why, I just wanted to type "Blue Hose" again.

I just couldn't see this working at the college level. I'm sure we've got our share of tricks though. We've got the most versatile RB in the league.

I'm more of a fan of the flea-flicker, but that one was pretty creative...

We did that in pee wee football twice in the same season ... I'm not kidding.

We also had a kid who was gymnast go in motion doing flips which worked as a distraction for gadget pass. Creativity works great with 12-year-olds ... but not so well if anybody is any older.

Didn't someone in the NFL do this a few years ago on an extra point or something similar?

Can we get a description for the firewalled folks? I have a youtube library in my head that I like to keep updated for while I'm at work.

QB lines up. Acts like, "Wait, that's not the right ball" so the center hands it to him. He walks towards the sideline and at the last second, he breaks up the sideline for a TD.

oh man, I'm pretty sure if the offense was just standing around like they're doing in my head the defense would seriously hurt the QB while he was pretending.

Really wouldn't expect to see this above a youth league football level. A friend shared this with me this weekend and I thought it was pretty funny. Trick plays are always fun to watch - but tough to pull off. Tampa Bay did work a pretty good adaptation of the "Statue of Liberty" this weekend end.

This post was really just for fun.

Boise State vs. Oklahoma- 2007 Fiesta Bowl = Best trick play ever.

The Boise play was a very good trick play. Especially since it was with a game of that magnitude on the line.

I've seen this done in the NFL but I don't think it works anymore.

A receiver goes to the sideline to "talk with the coach" while the rest of the team is in the huddle but never actually steps off the field. Meanwhile the ball is snapped and he takes off down the field uncovered because the D didn't think he was in the play.

This is a play that works once. Any other team on the schedule would be looking for it. I'd like to see what happens the next time when the kid says "Coach we need the right ball." "WHACK!" Some LB is going to snap a few of his ribs.
