We've looked at the o-line and wide outs, now our QBs.

13 Brock Smith Jr 6-3 240
15 Spencer Landis So 6-2 185
10 Mike Brown Fr. 6-0 190
17 Kyle DeArmon R-Freshman 6-3 180

I have a great feeling that Brock will really take off this year. He's had a full year to learn the system, and the last half of last year, last spring, and this summer he has been THE guy. So, hopefully he has relaxed, and will be the great offensive leader we need to go from good 2 great. I think he will do what is needed of him for our offense to be really hard to stop this year.

From what I saw last year, I really liked Landis. He could come in if needed, and by the time Brock graduates he would be a seasoned veteran in this system. But I'm not sure if someone else will jump over him. It sounds as if Mike Brown could be that guy, or we could have someone else recruited. It's good these guys have no pressure on them now, and can learn the system.

Mike Brown's one of the best players we have on this team. Everybody I know that's watched him this fall has a man-crush on him. He's flat out frickin good. He's going to get even better. He'll probably redshirt this year (which is great), then be Brock's backup next year before starting after that. He's got a very nice career ahead of him.

Somewhere the Auntie Ann radar is going off and she'll be joining us shortly.

How cool is it to have a veteran 3-year starter at QB who is just a junior? I see this as a breakthrough year for Brock. He is surrounding by a ton of great weapons and opponents have to respect our run which will open up things outside.

As for Landis, it was great for him to see action last fall. Having a backup with some real game experience is priceless.

I'm anxious to see Mr. Brown in action myself.

It shows how much the talent level has risen that we're not even mentioning Zach in this discussion. Although I suspect he'll see some time behind center this fall in certain sets.

What's the scoop on Kyle? I haven't read much about him at all...

Redshirt freshman. Doesn't look athletic at all from a distance but he's not bad at QB. Has a canon of an arm.

the 3 of them need to add 25 lbs.

or "wishbone offense" may have a whole new meaning.

He's a solid #3 guy. Probably not a guy you want as your starter but if needed, could probably do a solid-job if pressed in to action.

It is so cool to talk about this position again. Don't make me talk about Paul Johnson or Robbie Justino!

Brock doesn't need to add any weight. Kid's 6'3 240 pounds. He's done good getting rid of extra weight.

If we lose both Brock and Landis, I think we'd see Zach back there before DeArmon.

Let's just pray that this doesnt happen...It appears that we have all of the right ingredients for a GREAT season. However, this position is key. If we can't get good performance out of our QBs early on (especially by game 3), we can forget about playoffs.

Extremely cool. I agree on seeing this as a breakout year for him. I think he's going to gain a lot of friends in the stands this year.
QB Competition

We have some strong points (not many) but overall […]

Bowling Green

We need to play more physical. Lost that with JSU […]

Charlie Kirk

But all the comments are that he wasn't a leftist.[…]

The poor guy didn’t make it very long. :)
