We should be pretty good at wideout this year. In Wynton, we have a gamebreaker. In any one play he can turn a game around. I look for Wynton to have a terrific season both recieving and on special teams. Turner and Bolden will give us two other solid receivers with plenty of experience. Hopefully a couple of the others will be able to step up to give us some depth.

I look forward to seeing what our wideouts will do this year. Should be exciting![/list]

Sanderson will probably get redshirted, along with Summers. Imagine having a 6'5 and 6'6 receiver next to each other for four years.

Our top two receivers are very good. Dominic isn't bad at all either. Jon Crawford has some of the best hands on the team. Eugene just set WR records in the weight room.


If we can get them the ball, I think the receivers will have some chances to make plays this year.

Its been several years when I felt as good about our receivers as I do right now.

Our top three guys are essentially starters in Jackson, Turner & Bolden. Having that type of experience is a major blessing.

If we do in fact redshirt both of the big Floridians then it is a testament to the depth we have this fall outside. Because both of those guys have bigtime potential.

Well I said this about Summers, but you could really say it about both of them...

I could see them playing a Darnell Edwards type role because of their height. if they can match them up one on one inside the 10 they would be perfect candidates for a corner fade on some of the smaller DBs.

I'm pretty sure Cedric is not coming back to school. I think that Brandon Turner is a really good receiver, i hope to see us pass it his way more this season.

I thought that Cedric redshirted last year unless it was some kind of eligibility requirment of some kind.

Cedric wasn't actually enrolled in school last year ... he struggled to meet some eligibility requirements. At least that's how I understand things.

That's why he is listed as a true freshman despute being in the Class of 2006 coming out of high school.

Why is Chris Summers "probably" redshirted? What's that based on?

I would find it hard to believe that we landed a recruit on his level and the best that we can offer him is a redshirt.

Unless, Rocco himself has stated otherwise, I'd expect to see a lot of Chris this season as a legitimate go-to guy.

Unless he would redshirt due to Turner and Jackson being seniors. He could redshirt, practice with the team, learn the system, then step into a starting role as a freshman next year.

My guess is that Summers plays now, unless there's a health or development issue.

It might be more of a maturity issue and not ability. Jackson and Turner know the system well enough to make it happen. Summers is new to it all even though he is a big time prospect. He could be used in certain situations but if he were to wait til next year he could be more involved and would probably start.

Rocco has stated before, many times, that he would like to redshirt his entire freshman class. Add to that the amount of experienced receivers that we have, the fact that Summers wasn't here this summer like the rest of the team, and the fact that while Summers is talented, he's all skin and bones right now and really needs to bulk up, and you've got the perfect recipe for a redshirt. Why have the kid as a #3, #4 receiver for a year when you can wait and have him your #1 or #2 for four?

I agree with Jon, hopefully Chris can redshirt. I think that would be best for all parties involved I do believe. If Rocco believes he's good enough to play this fall then he will. If not, he won't. I look forward to seeing him play though.

According to EA sports NCAA recruiting system, dox, playing time is not the only thing a school can offer a recruit............. theres location, head coach, program prestige, playing styles.............. so Chris might not mind being red shirted

If this kid was signed by last year's ACC champs, Rocco's alma mater, he would be redshirted as well. An article from last year cited that Grobe redshirts all of his freshman in order to bridge the gap between high school and college demands for the player...plus the extra year as a 22 or 23 year old usually is a lot more physically developed and imposing than the 18 year old player who has much to adjust to.

It seemed to work for the ACC champs...

Just my opinion, but I think this is the best group of WR top to bottom since the days of LG Parish, Pat Nelson, Craig White, Ike Logan and Scott Queen.
