The shoulder joint axis and the elbow axis can be the bain of the weightlifter's existence. Injuries to these are infuriating as one's muscles feel fine to lift but the range of motion the injured joint will allow can be severly limited or you are forced to outright stop in your tracks when you get to a particular point in a given exercises rep range due to impingement or pain casued by injury...all that connective tissue a la ligaments/cartilage lag in the rate of strengethening to that of the muscle (incidentally, pullover's also can reach a point of diminishing return concerning joint integrity once one gets to a heavy poundage--for those with genetically looser joints.)

Best of luck on his recovery...

Hopefully he will be quick to recover, and perhaps be ready by the W&M game, if not sooner.
