Spencer Hodges' Knee

Freshman offensive lineman Spencer Hodges is still recovering from knee surgery and will be out up to two more weeks.

At least we're not reliant on him to be on the field this fall, but you hate to see a kid injured. Also, being a freshman, the more reps he gets in practice the better.

Unless I'm mistaken, this was a HS injury we knew about when we recruited him. With the veteren depth we have now, I would think a redshirt is in order, and then we may be looking at a 4 year starter beginning in 08. He certainly looks to be the real deal.

That is my understanding as well. If ever there were a year when we could afford to let Spencer get healthy and learn our systems it would be this one.

Hodges' Knee

Yes...Hodges' knee was injured during a mid-November H.S. play-off game. He visited LU before his knee surgery.

I understand that LU thinks he was 90% when he first reported to LU and they want to make sure he is 100% before full contact. He still has quick foot speed for a big man.

The team had shoulder pads on today and Hodges was held out of that to keep rehabbing on the sides.
