Just heard that plans are that the new permanent ticket booth at the South gate, to replace the Pepsi trailer, will get under way this week. Will be up in time to impress Tusculum.

Heard, too, that a new gate's gonna be added to the NE corner of the stadium, beside the FOC, so people who buy tix at the FOC ticket window will have a direct path to their student-side seats.

The administration is doing some great things to improve the atmosphere at William's Stadium. Their attention to detail on the little things that make Saturday afternoons run much smoother.

Whatever happened to the "Big" news in the works that was rumored in one of the other threads a few weeks back regarding the stadium...has all of that died down on account that whatever needed to take place didn't work out?

We're still waiting on final word. Sorry but that's all I have.

driving by this weekend, I've decided that all of these changes are good, but the biggest change they could make with the least amount of work would be to replace the ugly chainlink fence around the stadium, with the nice black aluminum fence that's over by the FOC. That would be a huge upgrade in terms of looks. People probably wouldn't even realize why the place looks so much better. Fencing, especially that much of it, is quite expensive though.

agreed LUconn, That type of fencing at the FOC or a wrought iron fencing would look great.

Agree with LUconn & Smoothy about the fencing.

i am using up one of my occasional posts to talk about fencing................. that being said i to think that the fence would look great, i drove by the field a few days ago and got to see first hand a few of the improvements, the sidewalk from the pit to the soccer field/track will be a solid addition come football season, the new seats look great and make the stadium look great, the new gates were under construction as of friday of last week, this is a much needed addition to the stadium, i have no clue what the new gate will look like but it has to be better than the trailer, the holly trees..... great for closing in the stadium, third downs should feel much louder now..... sorry about the ranting but this whole upgrade deal has gotten me so excited about football season on the mountian..... by the way i know you guys tailgate in p1 but i think that the new practice field could be a great place for pre game party.....

The practice field would be a great place to tailgate, but the chances of us being allowed to tailgate there are slim to none (which for the record I can understand.). It would be incredible to have a student tailgating area, for those of us not predisposed to the meal offered by the SFC, who prefer to be out there several hours before the game. Unfortunately for us, Upper P1's tailgating row just got cut short by a sidewalk. We would be interested in moving locations, but it seems that every other parking lot within decent proximity to the stadium is already reserved.

We'll see.

Yes! I've had the same thought. I'd love to see it happen.

Personally I think a brick wall would look better than any fence going around the outside

Liberty Blue...I like the ring of that...can I ask for that at my local Lowe's by that name? 8)

(Would be nice to see "Liberty Blue" take hold akin to the "Michigan Maize")

Nope, but you can ask for Pantone PMS 282. :)

True, but good luck getting the right color paint at Lowe's with that.

why, with their exclusive color match system- I'd expect that you could unbolt a seat, carry it in there, and they could whip up a gallon for ya.

(NO, BJ- NO. Don't do that :D )

I was going to make a joke about our other primary color but...
