Something new from the conference this year...
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the third consecutive year, the Big South Conference will video stream live its annual Football Media Day, with this year’s event taking place at the Embassy Suites Concord-Charlotte on Friday, July 27. The free, live web stream will be available from approximately 1:45-3:15pm on www.BigSouthSports.com, and will feature a special interview session with the head coaches and one student-athlete from each of the Big South football playing members.

Visitors can access Friday’s video stream by clicking on the “2007 Football Media Day” web banner icon on the frontpage on BigSouthSports.com, which will re-direct them to the Big South’s premium content site, “The EDGE,” to make their viewing selection. To view the event, select “Football Media Day” and a new window will open the live stream.

As part of its collaboration with internet solutions partner XOS Technologies, the Big South Conference begins its third year of video streaming in 2007-08. The video stream of Football Media Day, which will also be available on a video-on-demand basis for subscribers of The EDGE, requires a high-speed internet connection (DSL, cable or above), Microsoft Windows Media Player 9.0 or greater downloaded and installed, and a screen resolution of 800x600 or greater, among other requirements. An annual subscription of The EDGE costs $69.95 and runs one year from the date of sign-up and includes live sporting events and championships, interviews and exclusive access to on-demand video and features.

The Big South will video stream 19 football games during the 2007 season, with the schedule as follows:

Actually they did the coaches newser from Media Day live last year as well. Although I hope the stream is a little higher quality this time. As far as the games they will be videostreaming, the only addition as far as we're concerned is the CSU game. Now I am concerned that we won't be able to watch the FTN games for free anymore on the web. That would stink as the league steals our access and then sells it back to us at a price.
