"schools of interest" as in - HIS interest, or theirs?
I'd think EVERY local would be interested in the Hokies or Hoos
the hope is that one day we're regarded in the same light, as another viable option at the DI level.

Generally the schools of interest indicate some contact. In the case of the larger schools it is generally a letter telling them that they will be watching them during their season. Sometimes it indicates an offer has been made or is being discussed based ont he school's situation with other players they may have as a higher priority.
But you are right that often it generally is an indication of their dream situations until things start to become clearer.

I've heard this kid is a big possibility for LU. UConn is also looking at him. He tore it up last year as a junior, so keep an eye on him this year. His stock may rise above LU, but playing close to home is a big factor.

Rivals has updated his profile with us now listed as his only offer. But they also have posted some videos on his profile page from this past season.

He has not made a final decision yet...I don't know who has made any firm offers, though.

Well even if he did come here we have a glut at running back right now even after Rashad graduates. If you looked at my RB review we have a lot of guys on the roster just at tailback.

We do BJ, but after Rashad and Zach graduate, the race is wide open for the starting spot 2 years from now. It never hurts to have depth.

Also, our two starting safeties last year were converted running backs. Kids don't always play the same position in college as they do in high school.

Both points are very true. Let's wait and see if we land him before we speculate too much though

Doesn't look good on landing this kid. From what I hear, UMass has made him an offer, and that's where he's leaning. His second option may be to walk-on at Vtech. Looks like LU has been his fall-back option, so look for Korrey to head up to Amherst.

Thanks for the update. The grass tends to be greener on the other side for a lot of kids ... especially those wanting some distance from home.

Well, also, a lot of kids are also wanting the opportunity that gives them the best shot at the pros, and I think that's part of the case here.

Hey, we've put RBs into the NFL. Has Umass?

Hopefully we'll get at least 2-3 guys drafted this year which will really help in that aspect.

I'm just throwing this out there, but have you guys looked at our roster lately? Have you seen how many RBs we have? We have nine of them plus two fullbacks. Of those 11, three of them will be seniors. I think we're set on running backs for now.

Yeah thats a log jam unless someone is making a jump to DB or something.

Not to be overly picky but we actually had 12 (7 TBs, 3 FBs and 2 "A-backs") in 2007. The point about being set at RB is still true though.

Definitely no need to worry about the RB situation.
