The roster got updated today if anyone cares (or dares) to check it out. I noticed that some of the rumored transfers from UVA are not on the roster as well as some of the freshman. Maybe things didn't work out for them. Other than that nothing earth shattering to report. Not sure if the link will work but here it is.

If a kid transferred in, wouldn't he have to start fall classes before being put on the roster?

If he didn't take summer classes, yes.

That would also explain several of the missing freshmen.

How many scholarships are FCS teams suppose to have? It looked like we had about at least 80 people on the roster.

Also, with transfers, do they count against the scholarship numbers? I am asking because we've taken a lot transfers lately.

I-AA teams I believe are allowed either 65 or 68 full rides. The rest would be walk-on's. I don't believe that football can divide the scholarship $$ up like sports such as s****r or baseball.

I-AA gets 63.

I-aa gets 63 but can spread them out over 85.

I went over the roster and I counted exactly 63 players who I believed were on scholarship meaning that they are either 1A transfers or those that submitted letters of intent on signing day or at least they were on the memo that gets posted on the web after the signing is complete. I did not include the other 1AA transfers and I think that there are 3 of them since the rumor is that they are walk ons. That number did not include Chris Summer the latest signee from Florida since he is not on the roster as of now nor did it include the 4 other transfers that were rumored to come here.

Will somebody be kind enough to make a comment on why Sene is still listed. I thought he was a Sr. last year and graduated in May. Obviously, it would be awesome to have him back -- but I think this is a typo. Can somebody straighten me out? (lol)

The NCAA granted his request for a 6th year of eligibility. He's back for one more season and its one of the big reasons we are excited about the O-line this fall.
