...must be a cerebral QB based on his school choices.

It seems like we have a decent shot at this kid because Ivy league schools don't offer athletic scholarships. Also, 4.7 in the 40 is pretty good for a QB. It indicates a higher degree of athleticism.

So, he's athletic and he's capable of making smart decisions on the field as a leader and QB.

Based on potential, Rocco should at the very least, take a long look at this kid. I hope we sign him :arrrrrrr

The teams that are showing interest are not exactly powerhouse 1AA teams but everyone is worth a look because you never know what you are getting . Good speed hopefully can make up for lack of size. Must be smart with all of the Ivy League teams showing interest and that is a plus in the QB position.

Actually, 6-1, 190 is pretty decent size for a QB coming out of prep. A few of the Ivy League schools have a history of attracting top QB's--Princeton and Dartmouth to name a couple. The typical Ivy QB tends to be tough, athletic, and cerebral.

Again with Penn and Princeton in the mix, it may all come down to dollars and cents, and we may land a kid who may turn out to be a strong leader on the field.

I must confess his pic does not quite match the mental image I get when I think "Dual Threat QB from Newport News". :)

Let me clarify. Athlectic does not necessitate dual threat in the sense that I meant it. In other words, I would consider John Elway to have been an athletic QB in his prime. I doubt he ever ran a 4.7 though. That said, Elway was not a Michael Vick, who is a RB who happens to play QB, and in that sense would be considered a dual threat.

Here's an update form the Rivals guys:
Menchville head coach John Byron said Steve is an outstanding leader, who has a linebackers mentality. That kind of toughness is needed as the Monarchs switch to an option-style offense. "We have three very good running backs that can also catch," Crisp said, "so I think it will be great to fuse both the run and the pass."
