Option Football in our Future?

I thought we should pick up this discussion from the Fire House over here:

I had asked about what our QB situation is gonna look like behind Brock and mentioned a kid out of Hampton, Tavarus Dove, who is on teh roster but has not taken a snap. You think he may factor into the possibility of an option game for LU?

I don't know about that. It sure seems as though Brock is gonna be the man, nothing to indicate otherwise and you don't wanna start someone who hasn't seen playing time at ANY level (see last year's results)

That and the fact that we could easily go w/ a 2 back set or rotation- doesn't appear the option is going to be a huge factor in the overall scheme of things.

I'm we are recruiting the QB position fairly hard unless the staff decides they want Zach back behind center with the arrival of Rashad (which I doubt).

I'm sure we would be attractive for a JUCO or DI-A transfer. That's not a slight to anyone on campus already ... we just are short on numbers.

Most teams who turn things around quickly rely on quarterbacks transfering down from the 1A ranks. JMU, Hofstra, and Delaware with some of there teams in the past are prime examples. I don't think that Brock Smith if the answer to our problems right now. We need some transferes in key positions and the best place to start is the quarterback.

Interesting point. I was asking because there was all this Brock and Brock talk last year and tit seems to me like until I mentioned him, nobody had even heard of him.

I look forward to seeing what we end up going with
