Uniforms Food for Thought

Let me first say that I really like the clean look of the unis. I still reserve the opinion that the logo needs scale altering to look good on the helmet.
However, I was more wondering about the color scheme of the unis. I think the blue getup looks sharp, but it struck me that the while the main jersey is blue (and even though it is a main color of the color guide), all the marketing for the fans is to wear Red (I think the Red Sea, or whatever it's called, is a cool idea.) Food for thought is the following:
Would a red jersey be more apropos so the Red Sea has more synergy with the players getup? (Note I don't have a definitive personal opinion on this as of yet; I simply want to hear what other posters feel.)
This was just an interesting observation, especially after looking at other schools like Wake in addition to seeing the Penn State pictures where the sea of fans matches their team on the field.

I see. It will be interesting to see how it looks...if it works well or doesn't translate well from theory into practice.
Thanks for the info.

spoke with a high placed source this weekend who indicated that the whole uni thing is in transition through next fall, but there will be big changes next year.
Bottom line, believe everything you have heard about Coach McKay's relationship w/ Nike. MBB will have new threads, and LU is looking to bring ALL sports over to Nike and contract with them from now on out.
be very interesting to see how this shakes out- but I'm assuming branding and "uniformity" will be a big part of it.

Interesting.
Aren't the current Football unis Nike brand?
Also, wonder how "uniformity" of brand might affect the track team since Liberty hosts the ASICS Collegiate Invitational? Also, I think the Big South Track & Field Championships are sponsored by New Balance. Gotta love the Free Market.
So, Medic, do you have any word on if they have a solution for the Helmet Logo thing or are they just going to throw in the towel and keep it as it is?
Additional food for thought: If they go to a red jersey or just as an alternate, do they contemplate a switch to a red helmet for it?

We can't afford to change helmets like a lot of schools. Until we get an alternate logo, our helmets aren't going to look great.
The Nike situation will be like at Auburn. Once a team's current contract runs out (i.e. Track and Ascics) they will switch to Nike.

I would be very interested to see a red jersey. I think it would look really nice, but I'm not sure how they would look with the current helmet, there doesnt seem to be enough red in them for a red jersey. If I were to buy a jersey, I would rather have a red one than blue or white one though.

Think Penn State. That's whatour uniforms will look like. Very plain with no piping and a simple name across the chest. The pants are plain with no stupid piping either. It'll basically be like this year, just put red instead of navy.

Yeah, but we don't have as much red in our helmets as they do.

We don't have much white in it either.
It'll look good.
We're Penn St with an alternate red.
