Since we seem to have the roll call and food threads rather full, I thought I'd start up a thread focusing on the game itself. Here's some of Chris' preview to whet your appetites:
Rocco seeks solid execution in LU spring game

Lynchburg News & Advance
April 21, 2007
Liberty's second season of spring practice under Danny Rocco has had a decidedly peppier tone than its first.
It's easy to understand why. Rocco knows his personnel now. His coaches are no longer conducting basic playbook instruction with players trying to grasp a new system.

If you are anywhere close to Lynchburg today, you need to drop by our tailgate and then be at Williams Stadium by 3pm.

Will this be on the radio anywhere to listen online?

I think we are going to have to wait for the eyewitness accounts in this thread once everybody starts getting home from the game. And of course:

I was there tailgating from about noon until the game. A good amount of people out tailgating today... I stopped by the FlameFans tent to check things out, and got some of Mrs Scar's cookies... very good. A good amount of people at the spring game. From what I saw, Brock seemed to be overthrowing his receivers a bit... Landis did pretty good I thought. Winton Jackson played well... We'll see what others say about the second half.

Too much to say right now and the in-laws are still here, so I've got to head out to dinner.
First, let me point out the obvious. The Flames took the W at home today. All kidding aside, the Offense beat the Defense. I can't recall the final score at the moment, but the defense did make a nice stand in the second half. There was a great turnout (especially for a Spring game!) at the Flamefans.com tent. Wynton looked great (how about that cut on the long run in the 2nd quarter?!) as did Wesley Cheek at TE. I wished we'd go more to him last year, so I was glad to see plays coming his way today.
More on it all later, including the scoring rules for today if no one else has posted it by then. Pictures are also on the way.

Cheek is a running back. Last year, he was 4th on the chart behind Rashad, Zack and Terron Williams. He did have some nice catch-and-runs out of the backfield today.

Offense looked a little shaky. Don't know if it's because our defense is that good or if our O is going to stuggle a bit.
I'll let Medic list the REAL negatives.

Attendance: 4,300 and all on one side of stadium. JF spent the day "under glass" in the new luxury suite. Concessions were open, as were the usual tents selling LU T-shirts, sweaters, and caps.

Were there any injuries? That is the most important thing. Did the team remain intact health-wise? While we would all prefer the team to execute all of their plays effectively in the spring game, ultimately it only matters when they start keeping track of W's and L's.

I don't believe there were any injuries.

Most importantly, I think all of us realized that the girls at Liberty look freaking amazing.
More later.
Football wise, not girls.

Tailgate was a blast. I think for the fall we're moving down to the other side to be next to Mr. Lloyd (Stevie Ray's pops). We probably had about 25 or so FFers swing by through out the day. A good time all around.

Sene is also a captain. We'll have five this year.
I think we had 30-40 people total stop by, if not more.
I suck at hillbilly golf.
Pictures will be posted when Medic brings my camera back.

Its sounded like a great Saturday in Lynchburg. I wish I could've been there. Did anybody happen to notice anybody hanging around RMc today?

and though I missed it (I was watching the track meet at the time), apparently Drake drilled a 30 yd field goal, and did not miss on an extra point on the afternoon

THINGS THAT WERE GOOD:
Sparkle Shoes: (Drake) connected on both extra points and a 37 yd field goal. I thought his mechanics looked good and there was good height on the kicks (as opposed to drilling the O-line in the back of the head)
IMHO he earned a shot this fall
As mentioned, Cheeks was solid. Wynton Jackson looked good. #s 3 and 7 looked fine in limited action.
No injuries.
Spencer Landis looked decent on 2nd team O, the walk-on QB (#17) surprised everyone- he has an arm. Keep an eye on him.
Big punter- looked decent, esp on pooch kicks, good hang time
***
THINGS THAT WERE NOT GOOD:
Hicks- LOSE THE 'TUDE and tuck your shirt in

No Beamer Ball here, thanks
Some poor tackling up around shoulder pad level , not going to bring down guys like that
thats about it, thank God
***
OVERALL- good performance- O wins over D, I think it was 39-24 (w/ the revised scoring system)

Did I see a picture of "Mickey G" in there? Mickey used to work in the Athletic Department. Look at Picture #57 in the background.
