It appears all of the speculation of the past six months is coming to fruitition. Finally signs of life from league office.

No matter what you hear of people complaining about this being out of our footprint, if this gets the Big South auto bid by 2010 it is an awesome development.

Okay.. I'm lost... someone please speculate to hold me over...

Tally, the speculation and rumors are that Albany and Stony Brook are coming into the Big South as associate members starting in 2008. This would make us auto-bid eligible in 2010.

This also means our 2008 schedule is practically finished.

if this is what happens tomorrow and these are the two teams added then I just have really one question....how decent are these schools??? I really honestly know nothing about their football programs...maybe somebody that knows more about their programs could shed some light on that

2008 schedule would look like this:

Road games
Western Carolina
JMU
Coastal
VMI
I-A or Youngstown St

Home Games
Chuck South
Gardner-Webb
Elon

Games that could be either home or away
Presby
Jacksonville
Stony Brook

I would think it's likely that Presby would be home again in 08 so that we'd have six home games. That's not a bad schedule. Stevev probably thinks it's not up to his standards though.

don't we owe Youngstown.st a game still...

Albany & Stony Brook are adding scholies but they won't be close to 63 by next year. Nonetheless they are quality programs and they will be competitive from the get-go.

We could be at YSU instead of a I-A game because I read that somewhere as well.

They're better than Presby.

Albany is an up and coming program. They beat Delaware last year at Delaware. Significant win for them. I don't know too much about Stony Brook but I was told that they beat Hofstra last year. Considering what the conference has now those are 2 pretty good additions.

Easy, fumblerooskies. This is the first thing he's done of any significance in his entire tenure as commish other than bring in PC. I like the idea.

Yes, you are correct. He has done a decent job bringing in associate members in sport in danger of losing automatic bids. I still think he's a moron, though. He did a great job in overseeing the demise of the old Southwest Conference.

Sly had 40-something posts on the BJU board.

Me and Medic post here a lot. Sly's everywhere.
