A Sea Of Red

It is March 12. The Spring Game is in a month and 9 days. We are planning to tailgate, but are we going to have a FlameFans.com banner by then? I know we have mentioned it, but how much is it going to cost, and are we going to take donations like we did for the Flames Club? How long will it take to make?

I have the Liberty flag that we can fly in front of the tent as well, I'll just need some PVC piping or something to attach it to.

If we get the banner, we'll be set.

Why did you have to put up a pic of Rudy's around lunch time? That was uncalled for.

For the record, the guys that run that website are friends of mine. I was one of the first ever posters on their board when they organized years ago.

As for the sign, let's see what we can do to get this rolling.

SJ... We need someone on campus who can receive the donations and get it done. Can you (or another poster from the mountain) get a paypal account and but a sticky with a button on it? I'd be glad to pitch in for something like this.

A simple thing like that couldn't be too expensive.

Universal T's has the ability to slap the logo on anything, so if we went to them, we could get the athletic logo and FlameFans.com on it. Think of a slogan ("It's better than working") and bam, we have a banner.

We could still use a logo (Hint Hint).

PLEASE tell us who that hint was to...I really really dont want to see any more illustrations on Microsoft Paint from Medic

always liked the red on black one I did on the old board (I think) but none of the rest of you cared

I'm open to all suggestions. Just don't use Proto's copyrighted image in your design and I'll consider anything.

I suggest we not get a banner made until someone has actually come up with a decent logo for the board/site in general.

that's pretty much what kept our stupendous Ts-hirt from ever getting made. Somebody design a logo. Oh how I wish one of our members was in the logo/graphics design profession.

yeah...that would be nice...better yet wouldnt be even better if someone on the board was in the graphics/design field AND graduated from Liberty...man, I bet they would be willing to come up with a killer logo...one that would make all over message boards PM us asking where in the world can we get a logo like that (which of course they would pay for...so really, this could be something "this person" could profit from.)

ha, no, I was thinking more along the lines of someone who ran his own company. You know, maybe they've even designed a logo for a school, or a professional basketball team. Someone like that.

Truthfully, it's a little more than just a logo. We need someone with design and web design experience to design a custom theme for the board, as well as something that could be integrated into the overall site, which will be more than just a message board, someday.

I know several really great designers. Unfortunately, FlameFans.com is not in a position to pay their fees right now, and I'm not the kind of guy who asks for free stuff when I wouldn't want it asked of me. Designers have to pay the bills too.

Also, someone with PHP and Joomla experience would be awesome.

Feel free to offer up some possibilities, BJ. I have openly begged for logo ideas since we started up this board. If I had any graphic artistic abilities I would've done it myself. But alas ...

Consider this an open invitiation to the board to give us your best offerings for a logo.

i agree with scorcho. not unless we get a cool design, let's not rush into it. we should have it ready by fall.
