Took from the Sene thread, thought it deserved it's own thread -- a nugget from Lang's writeup on Sene.
A big loss. We're going to need someone to step up and replace his production.
Liberty's secondary took a hit in depth, though, when starting cornerback E.L. Estes decided over winter break not to return to the team for his senior season.
Estes, a second-team all-Big South pick, injured his knee during a game against Coastal Carolina two seasons ago and played with considerable pain last season.
He decided at the end of last year that the pain was too difficult to play through and called it a career. Rocco asked him to think about it before making a final decision. After returning from winter break, Estes stuck with his initial decision.
"He played last year like it was his senior year," Rocco said. "He played hard. He sucked it up and played through pain and injury. I think in his mind, he was preparing himself for that being the end."
