How many will LU sign?

I was wondering if anyone on here knows how many athletes the coaching staff is wanting to sign in each position and what are the needs of the team. I do understand that this is kind of an "insider" question, but maybe someone could shed some light.

It's not "insider" since Coach has said it publicly. He's only going after 12 or so this year and hopes to redshirt them all.

do we know anything about transfers yet?

No except that we need to stop acting like transfers are the saviour of programs and realize that the talent we have now is exceptional and we should be glad with what we have instead of "raiding the barrels" of other schools.

Manger is correct, the needs will be predicated on who we bring in through transfer.

i love what we have, but it wouldn't hurt to get bigger, faster, and stronger guys.

i think we can win the conference with what we have

I don't want to be Transfer U. I want to be the school that steals the kids out of high school from the big schools (i.e. App State, UMass, YSU, Montana). They don't rely on transfers.

Actually, Montana & Youngstown State have relied heavily on transfers and continue to do so. There is nothing wrong with collecting a few transfers who can have an immediate impact to augment a solid recruiting class.

We have those. We got them last year. We don't have the scholarships for them this year and don't need them. Use the scholarships for kids that'll be here all four years, not some that are just looking for playing time.

we can do that, and at the same time get transfers.

No we can't, it's called scholarship limitations. We don't have very many this year. We either get the new kids, or the transfers, not both. I want players that will stay around and work for the name on the front of the jersey rather than transferring here because their ego got bruised at a bigger school.

If we get one, great.

We should spend the majority of our time and energy on the high school kids.

but they still will work hard while they are here. i somewhat agree with you, but i like the big time athletes

Then get the big time athletes out of high school.

This thread had an interesting cadence to your exchanges. No dog in this "fight" for me; just found it humorous.
