There has to be a frustrated soccer playing out there who can kick a football with reasonable accuracy.

If he's that frustrated, it's probably b/c he can't kick.

I know one of the bandos is a pretty decent kicker (he's better punting though). I thought of him after I figured I didn't want to jeopardize my right knee trying out at QB (that and Brock Smith probably has more mobility than I do)

I happen to know of a young man who has already tried out, and supposedly been given a spot on the 2007 squad. I have seen him kick a 50 yd field goal from the home sideline (hooked it in from the sideline at the 40 yd line). I have seen video of him kicking a 65+ yard field goal. From what I understand he was a walk-on at Florida State, but dropped out and decided to come to Liberty. Not sure about anything other than ability to kick - but what an asset that could be.

You got a copy of that video, and what type of tee was he using to kick it?

not to mention the fact that an uncontested 65 yarder on an empty field during practice is a FAR cry from a 42 yder with :01 on the clock to win the conf title.
heck, even a 27 yarder to win a plain-'ol home game seemed to be outta reach this year.
now I have heartburn again.
great.

the video was on a cell phone - Moto RAZR to be exact, so the quality is as choppy as you would expect.
as for the one i saw in person, we we're playing football in the Bill two Sunday's before the break. There were over 50 people there, and Ryan kicked it from the LU sideline as it was held by one of the other guys. He held it on the 40 yard line. He missed it the first time he tried, but hit the next three. He literally hooked it in from the sideline...and it could have been from the 50. This kid can boot it. Going on a guess I'd say he is 5'8 250lbs. He plays outside linebacker on our dorm team.

Lib, you heard anything about this kid and if so, are you allowed to even mention that you have?

That sounds like my kind of kicker, but can he tackle on a kickoff?
