On the surface i like it. Seems like some fresh blood with new ideas.

I like the hire. My biggest complaint was not having anyone on the defensive side of the ball with play calling experience and now we’re bringing in a guy that not only has DC experience but also spent time at the P4 level and had a successful stint as a HC. I also like that this guy seemingly has no connection to Chadwell in his past. I was worried it was gonna be another coastal player a couple years out of college.

If this guy can just improve our defense from dumpster fire to average next year I’ll go from liking this hire to loving it.

Shawn Quinn’s recent coaching résumé includes several seasons at Virginia Tech, where the program went 19–30 during his time on staff as an assistant, a stretch that raised questions but also provided hard-earned experience. Now, this LU armchair coach is hopeful that Quinn’s lessons learned can help spark a turnaround at Liberty, where leadership and accountability are badly needed. As a classic football movie reminds us, leadership sets the tone, and that spotlight falls squarely on HCJC, whose tenure has largely disappointed outside of a promising first year at the helm. The belief is that a shift in approach and attitude—starting at the top—can still change the program’s direction.
