QB Competition

I know it’s early and, with apologies to ballcoach, it’s softball season but…I’m looking for inside information on the battle for QB. Last season I sat 5 rows directly up from where KS would sit when the offense came off the field. No fire, no emotion and no encouraging his teammates. I don’t know how the rest of you feel but I would like to see a player with some visible intensity. Who on our roster might that be? Very interested in your insights and I realize this will be a dynamic thread as we approach summer camp. Please throw me some scraps - I’m starving!

From what I've seen and heard through some sources, Ethan Vasko appears to be the leader at the moment. That's excluding Burger and Bradford from the mix who both missed the spring. I know people who taught at the high school Vasko came from and all have said he's a fine young gentleman and enjoys taking on a leadership role.

If we can make him more efficient throwing the ball, then I think he will be a good fit.

So you seen & heard this 5 rows up and HCJC didn't see or hear and then didn't address this?

My undies are not twisted, but over my navel. You made comment being An LU Armchair coach and this LU Armchair coach asked another question. Sorry to offend you.

KS regressed as a leader last year. He was poised for greatness after the Fiesta Bowl season. I think everting the portal and realizing he didn’t have many takers affected him mentally. He was an absolute cancer in the locker room and on the sidelines and it was painful to watch. He often looked like he didn’t give 2 cents if they won or lost.
I wish him nothing but success at Colorado. I hope he lives up to the hype. But I 100% guarantee he will implode if he keeps that same attitude and demeanor. HCJC didn’t address it and in CO he will have legitimate options ready to take his place. It’s gonna be a whole new ballgame for him

I agree with everything but the bold text (entering the portal with no takers), this wasn't the story I was told. But hey we are all LU Armchair coaches here. I think PRIME will not deal with this kid and he will learn a life lesson at Co he should've learned here IMO.

I'm not sure the portal debacle affected him mentally. I think the success he had brought out more of his true colors. I've talked to people in that locker room and every one of them are glad he's not a part of the team moving forward. It was that bad.

I may be off on the Portal but it was suspicious that he entered and left the portal so quickly. If he had any other legitimate offers he’d have been gone. . I 100% think it was a mistake to bring him back after he entered. His attitude and actions after his return verify that observation. I’m hoping that HCJC learned a lesson and holds his players more accountable than he has

He was never the same after he got smoked by that Oregon LB late in the 1st quarter of the Fiesta Bowl. A lot of business decisions after that.

HCJC seemed to lose control a bit last year. To be fair though, there weren't many options behind KSalt at QB. I had hopes for Burger, but seeing him in the bowl game... I felt like his capabilities were oversold. This will be the year that lays the groundwork moving forward. This team is truly HCJC's entering the 3rd year.

Yep, I think I posted that same thing somewhere. That blow really seem to get in his head.

I don’t know anyone who misses this dude. Glad he’s gone! We can do so much better than what he provided last year (or should we say didn’t provide).

Looks like it's Vasko's job to lose.
