Why won’t Duke come to Liberty? Same conference as MTSU, much closer.

I believe the Blue Devils dumped our contract as part of the ACC's edict on avoiding scheduling G5s at the same time that we had to purge games to join CUSA. But I agree this makes sense for all parties.

And yet they keep MTSU. Wonder why?

Some people find Nashville a more enjoyable place to visit than lynchburg Virginia. I'm sure there are more prospective recruits there as well. Plus it's an easier win.

Nashville is awesome.

Murfreesboro is nice. But it isn't an easy commute for hometown fans of Duke. Do not discount that factor.

But JK37 has done some scheduling of his own and understands that adding in cupcakes to keep the win total up has an impact on retaining employment.

Every head coach will tell you: schedule me home games and wins. Duke wants nothing to do with Lynchburg.

49-14 is a generous final score. It easily could have been worse. App's two touchdowns were:
1) Set up by a 50-yard Hail Mary to end the half.
2) In garbage time.

USA fumbled while driving early and didn't punt until it was 28-0. Tip the cap to South Alabama, but I fully expect Liberty will see a better version of App State than that. Still, I hope our defensive staff is licking their chops watching how poorly App handled stunts from the USA defensive line.

All of the Friday night games this week were phenomenal. My illini were able to pull off the minor upset against Nebraska in OT. Syracuse lost to Stanford via a FG as time expired and San Jose st managed to take the lead against Washington State with 26 seconds left in the game just to have WSU tie it on a 52 yard fg as time expired right after their kicker missed a PAT on their previous touchdown.

JMU @ halftime is on pace to put up 100 points on UNC.

FIU just lost to a FCS school.

And it was to one of our old Big South rivals. They went from the toast of the league to the toilet with breakneck speed.

LaTech has rallied back into the lead in the 4th against Tulsa.

LT headed to OT with Tulsa. Sammy has easily handled NM State.

Toast of the conference because they won a single game against Central Michigan? You make C-USA sound even worse than reality, and that takes some effort.

That weekend it was easily the best performance of the week. But yeah, we all now know who they really are.
