Dont' look now but La Tech's defense has looked strong against Grayson McCall and NC State. The Bulldogs offense hasnt done much. But they are just down 3-0 in 2nd Quarter in Raleigh.

LT put together a drive just before the half and is now up 7-6. Grayson McCall was knocked out of the game. He will not return according to the trainer.

After McCall's backup does nothing, LT throws a 71-yard TD pass to go up 14-6.

The Bulldogs did themselves in after the break. NC State doesn't look impressive but holds on for the 30-20 victory over LaTech.

Everyone’s D has looked strong against the Pack, including WCU for most of week 1.

What a wild day of comebacks.

FIU went from the toast of the league to a loss to their biggest rival. But they have been in line with most of the league today playing out of conference.

App State rallied to beat ECU. Not sure if that heps or hurts our cause. It just is. But at least we will have good game film to study for next week.

I was in Huntsville tonight where Sam Houston was beating Hawaii in front of their first sellout crowd in decades.

WKU dominated their rivals at MTSU in their annual 100 Miles of Hate contest. They are quickly establishing themselves alongside Sammy as our primary challengers for the CUSA crown.

This is wild to hear considering they just won a FCS natty not long ago.

Sam has an Athletic Department that runs like a mid-level FCS program when it comes to marketing. They are starting to get better as outsiders are starting to be hired in. But they still have some work ahead.

I was in Huntsville before the game and it was the first time I remember seeing a buzz around town. Back when they won the COVID natty, it was in the spring and was primarily seen watching on their televisions. This was easily their best game atmosphere since Steve 'Air' McNair brought his traveling Alcorn circus to town a quarter century ago. That made last night's big victory over Hawaii all the more significant. It could lead to more folks returning for another great experience.

Incidentally many of the Hawaii folks that I met all were Texans with their kids on the team. Playing at Hawaii always sounds awesome until you are stuck there for a full year far, far away from home at age 18. That's why their transfer rate after freshman year is so high.
