Not the best case for us with them coming off a loss from Southern Utah. Anything short of a huge blowout won’t look good for us.

Liberty and UTEP are averaging a combined 223.5 penalty yards per game. We are dead last in FBS with 124.5. They are 4 spots above us.

One of the most embarrassing stats I’ve ever seen

I can’t imagine a world where HCJC doesn’t address this somehow.

Did you mean to say you can't?

I couldn't say what the actual numbers were, but my admittedly biased recollection is that when we faced his team as our hated rivals in teal and black, they had a tendency to push the limits on aggressiveness. It wasn't really an issue last year, but these 2 weeks have been horrible, and it has really hurt us. Could have easily cost us the game at Las Cruces.

There was actually an interesting ESPN article about Chadwell and his accountability culture a couple of years ago shortly before Liberty hired him. It's a good read: https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... ng-players

TLDR: The previous HC at CCU was a pretty proud "no rules" guy, and there was quite a bit of tension between the staff and players when Chadwell took over during Moglia's health issues. He called a tense meeting with the players to address the culture, and the article talks about the turnaround.

If I was a betting man I would put my money on Gray. He had a terrible game and probably deserves to sit with all of the penalites he caused. Part of me thinks it wasn't a coincidence we started scoring as soon as he got ejected.

The press conference comments today gave me some peace of mind. He finally addressed the questions about why Cooley and the RPO were not used and took responsibility for the game plan. He also seems to have addressed the discipline issues with strong statements and actions.

That’s wild. Playing and losing to an FCS squad no less.

They even were marketing to Juarez to run up that attendance figure. In retrospect, it backfired as the entire community has instantly given up on the program for now. They assumed that they would slaughter a mediocre to weak FCS program in front of a huge crowd to build momentum for the Scotty Walden era after the mediocrity and malaise of the Dimel years. Whoops.

Probably right. He is a veteran, and considered to be a team leader, so no excuse for his behavior. As far as his poor play prior to that, I think we can cut him a bit of slack, as he was injured in the Campbell game and clearly was not at 100%.

Rough first few plays but we hold them to a field goal. Crowd looks great by the way.

Sucks to see Cooley hurt. There's a reason chadwell didn't want to give him the ball so much. Hopefully it's nothing that will keep him out next week against ECU.

Always great when your drive stalls due to a false start caused by a clapping chant from the student section.

It had nothing to do with the crowd. The d line shifted and it caused the RT to jump.
