I was trying to figure out what games to watch tonight and went down a rabbit hole. Here are some games of interest to Liberty (on our schedule). The two games with asterisks are on the list because they are frequently mentioned as being contenders for the 12th spot in the playoff.

THURSDAY
Coastal Carolina @ Jacksonville State 8:00 PM
** SE Louisiana @ Tulane 8:00 PM

SATURDAY
UTEP @ Nebraska 3:30 PM
East Tennessee State @ App State 3:30 PM
Kennesaw State @ UTSA 3:30 PM
Eastern Michigan @ Massachusetts 3:30 PM
** Boise State @ Georgia Southern 4:00 PM
Norfolk State @ East Carolina 6:00 PM
Tennessee Tech @ Middle Tennessee 7:00 PM
Western Kentucky @ Alabama 7:00 PM
Southeast Missouri State @ New Mexico State 9:00 PM
Sam Houston @ Rice 7:00 PM

Watching these other teams play is called “scouting.” I learned it from Conner Stallions.

Good one! Only if you have tickets to each game, and a video recording device!

UNC- Minnesota was peak big ten football. UNC should be declared an honorary member.

NDSU- Colorado was a fun game. I was hoping NDSU would pull off the minor upset but they aren't as good as they once were.

Jacksonville state getting clobbered by coastal is not a good start to the season for our SOS.

Clemson- Georgia should be fun but I expect it to be at least a two score win for Georgia. Clemson seems to have peaked.

Notre Dame-Texas A&M and the big ten-SEC matchup of USC vs LSU should also be good games. It's mostly cupcake games but overall not a bad slate of week one matchups.

Clemson peaked awhile back and is on the downward slope, it feels like. So I agree.

Western almost pulled off the monumental upset of NCSU. I didn’t realize McCall was at NCSU. He had a much better second half.

No mention of Penn State’s impending upset loss at the hands of my Mountaineers?!

Because it’s not an upset :D

Game 1 caveats apply, but Jax State looks like they have some problems. They spent most of the first half with 11 personnel within 10 yards of the line and still gave up about 7 YPC and what felt like a billion yards on slants in the first. On the other side, Smothers did not look remotely comfortable at QB.

I was rooting for NDSU. They looked competitive, and I don't trust that Colorado defense much.

Beyond the obvious, I'm looking forward to the SHSU/Rice game this weekend. Rice is a double-digit favorite, but I think SHSU will take a step forward this year and it'd be encouraging to see them take down an AAC foe... albeit Rice.

Neither West Virginia or Penn State are worth watching.

West Virginia certainly hasn’t been so far.

VT in some trouble.

UGA rolling.

Diego Pavia giving the hokies fits. Glad we don't have to deal with him anymore.

VT is a joke program. Can’t beat the worst team in the SEC.

Clemson got STOMPED. ACC is weak.

I assumed Penn state would blow out WVU. I guess I wasn't wrong to think that.

Takes zero courage to make a prediction known after the game is over.

Not really sure it was a prediction. Just didn't think it was a very interesting matchup. WVU always loses to Penn state.

Boise state losing to Georgia southern 28-30 late in the 3rd quarter. That loss would be devastating for their CFP hopes with their schedule.

New Mexico State looks pretty terrible. Looks like they may lose to Southeast Missouri.

I think they have less than 20 passing yards in the almost 3 quarters.

I hope they pull it out. Not a good look for the conference.

Keep an eye on Sam Houston. They manhandled Rice.

It’s not strong. He’s just trying to deflect from the Chokies losing to ………Vandy.
