New Uniforms

Thought on the reds and whites? Are we getting new blues? Are we still getting sissy blues?

https://x.com/LibertyFootball/status/18 ... 6523786588

I like the look of the numbers & the brightness of the reds. But otherwise they're very plain and boring. I'm surprised that the actual/official LU logo the isn't on them at all. Which is funny cause LFSN did a story on the LU logo about all of the hard work they did and the amount of money spent on creating the official LU logo, only to no longer use it. The Athletic Department has also beaten the script to death,

These are almost throwbacks to the plain boring uniforms Rocco had. Those were replaced by our best uniforms (IMO) under Gill. Which were unnecessarily replaced, albeit by nice ones, which have now also been unnecessarily replaced by these. IMO, only the old reds needed to be made to match the whites and blues.

I'm convinced that the vast majority of LU's Administration and decision makers (on top of Costin) are retired Federal bureaucrats since they love to waste money fixing things that aren't broken. Oh well, 8/31 can't get here soon enough!

Reds would be good if numbers were blue and would loved to have seen LU in blue on red helmet, an alternative blue LU with blue face mask on white helmet. I like the clean pants and shoulders - but the white numbers and the script are a hard pass for me. I love our red practice jerseys with blue numbers - way better than white numbers.

Look good.

Blue #s on red would be hard to read from a distance. Both dark colors.

I will give the uniforms a chance, but last year, the script was too small on television and they looked like plain white, cheap helmets. I am concerned we will see the same with these new uniforms. There are parts of the uniform I like, and I think they look great in your office or on a shirt, but the helmets may be problematic. I thought there was nothing wrong with the LU helmets and uniforms we had in 2022 and the start of 2023.

I will have to wait until opening day to them in person to draw any definite conclusion. They seem okay but I would suggest that those who make these decisions spend some time to study the various uniforms the Oregon Ducks have donned. They, in my opinion, have been on the cutting edge for a number of years.

OK - most of you know I might be biased when it comes to the logo, but we spent the first 35 years without an athletic logo. Every team used their own thing - and some used this script logo. It was a disaster and didn't look like a D1 school, maybe not even a NAIA school.

We have a logo now - we should use it. The script Flames looks very FCS and doesn't not represent us well. Not sure why we have fallen back to that. Use the eagle logo helmets and call it day - stay consistent. Fans love sparky - fine - use that on the pants, but not on helmets. I don't like sparly on helmets either, but better then the Flames cursive thing going on.

I actually really like the Sparky helmets, but they made the icon too small. If they stick with that theme, I hope they significantly increase the size of the icon so you don't have to wait for a high-def broadcast camera to zoom enough before you can tell what it is.

Saw a video of our kids' response to the new uniforms. They were stoked. If they love'em....I love'em!

I admit finding this phenomenon of script letting on gear at schools everywhere a bit surprising. It is not just LU. It seems like universities & high schools all over the place have been doing this lately. I remember those blue helmets with the white Flames script and thinking how cheesy they looked back in the day. I'd personally prefer Proto's eagle across the board on the headgear.

But I also recognize that the gear is not aimed for us Old Hags (Medic reset). It is about the energy the kids get from the designs.

For the record, I like the jerseys and pants more than I expected that I would. The script Liberty looks strong on the front of the jerseys.

These are stellar. I was skeptical, but they're much better than I expected.

Recruits love jersey variants. Hoping we get a refresh of the navy uniforms in the next couple years.

I wish we'd get rid of navy blue everything. The new blue looks a lot better than navy

Are we trying to look like the Tarhills or the Monarchs?

Best Liberty Flames colors 🔥 would be same as the Kansas City Chiefs.

No, "we" are not. This has been an alternate color for the school along with gray. We are just used to the main "three" colors (white is technically not a color). I wouldn't mind if they did an all black variant as well

We wore black jerseys some when I was a student but with white pants.

I wish LU would go back to the original color scheme for some retro uniforms

A flame is red and yellow. KC colors. Would represent well.

Baby blue, powder puff, uni's are disgusting. They would probably be ok if we had a women's team.

We are trying way to hard... Someone at Liberty is trying to distroy the brand that has been built... sad....

Are we Liberty or UNC? Not a fan of the light blue. Our colors are red white and navy blue, not tarheel blue. No need to try to be something we’re not.

Liberty > UNC
