Hello, new poster here. So, you can take this info for what it’s worth. I frequent three different Ohio State message boards—one of which has insiders with connections inside agent circles. It was just posted on one of the premium message boards that named Jamey Chadwell as a possible candidate to become the new OC at Ohio State. Supposedly, there’s mutual interest between both parties as well. Jamey wants to be a power 5 HC and this is an opportunity for him to get P5 experience, similar to what Sean Lewis did with his career. A report came out today that Ryan Day is even letting the new OC have a say in the offensive staff. Jamey has always brought staff with him so the report lines up with Chadwell’s wishes.

Of course, I don’t see Ohio State paying $4M for an OC. I thought I’d pass along the info. Could be nothing. But the source is pretty plugged in and has solid contacts.

Not a chance... Day might not even make it through next season...

Makes no logical sense. Go from being the HC at a NY6 Bowl to an OC at another school. Cant see that logic

Solmaz has even posted numerous times that they’re “home”. If a big time P5 came calling for a HC spot, maybe he considers it? But for a coordinator? Nah… that’s a demotion unless you’re a SBC school

The man is making $4M. I have it on very good authority that they are building a custom home here.

I firmly believe he is here for the long haul. He is so bought and and committed to the School it’s hard to see him leaving.
As for a custom home, for $4 million+ annually I’d keep the one o got from the school and build a nice one at SML to ‘get away’. And of course invite me down on weekends to drive the ski boat. :D

That would almost be a lateral move. Granted UCF is in B12, but they are a "small fish in a big pond", maybe even a minnow in a big pond.

All the normal "Rivals/On3/247 insiders are paid to generate engagement" caveats apply here.

That said, several of the UCF insiders have followed a similar arc today:
  • They woke up to a bunch of buzz about Jamey Chadwell
  • The Football Scoop article came out, and the fanbase started analyzing his offense and posting tape
  • The insiders started hearing back from UCF sources and pumped the brakes, stating the school is still evaluating a list of 10+ candidates and no hire is imminent
A few have postulated that the information came from Chadwell's side for leverage, whether here or with WVU.

I don't think he's going to UCF.

Chadwell doesn't need leverage here. The recently fired HC at WVU had a base salary of $4M/yr, which is the same or a little less than what Chadwell is supposedly at currently. Maybe he's trying to stretch them higher? That still doesn't make sense though... WVU is not a friendly place. I have a hard time squaring all of this with his comments and being here long term, etc. They're still doing plenty of work in the recruiting world too. Maybe I'm wrong, but with the revenue sharing model coming into play in the next 2 years, unless it's a REALLY well funded P4, LU's the place I'd want to be. There aren't going to be too many limits on what LU uses to fund athletes from our pool of revenue as compared to most other institutions. Regardless of what happens here, LU's financial strength is going to start to pay dividends in a real way over the next couple of years on the recruiting front.

I agree. He’s making 4 million a year with nearly unlimited resources compared to public schools. Plus he has a 4 million dollar buyout which I think will hinder schools going after him.

With the recent commit and the offers being pumped out, I find it hard to believe any coaches are leaving but I could be wrong.

It means they're a more cutthroat fanbase. If HCJC can't handle a little criticism from our fanbase on Twitter over underperforming expectations, then good luck at WVU.

Chadwell proves time and time again that he can handle criticism from our fanbase sufficiently. Matter of fact, I appreciate him calling out fans as well as well placed humor towards the stupid criticism from some within this fanbase.

Some within our fanbase need to learn more about football.

WVU will be super loyal if you put in the work and don’t underperform. WVU can be a very friendly place

Hopeful he remains at LU for a few more years. By the looks of the signing class this morning, he was able to convince some parents and kids he was going to be here for a while.
