After putting up a respectable performance in their season opener at Wisconsin, the Bulls turned around and loss to partial scholarship FCS Fordham at home. Huh?

Buffalo appears to have problems on defense. 78 points allowed in 2 games.

This is a good matchup for us. Our offense should put up 30+ points pretty easily against their terrible defense. Their QB seems to be solid but their run game is atrocious so I expect our defense to perform good enough for us to pull away for a relatively stress free win on the road.

What is that on the left side of their stadium photo behind the endzone? It looks like giant books.

I'll be attending my first Bulls AND Bills game next weekend!

he students will be back in the stands. The band will show up. The University at Buffalo football team will play its first home game since December, when it earned bowl eligibility on the final day of the regular season with a 23-22 win against Akron.

It will be mostly familiar confines, with the exception of one big change to the scene at UB Stadium when the Bulls (0-1) host Fordham at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Bulls will switch from the east sideline to the west sideline for this season – the first time in nearly two decades the Bulls will make a move.

“It’s the first time we’re actually having the sidelines changed to what feels more like the home sideline,” receiver Cole Harrity said. “We’re excited, and hopefully the stands will be packed out, and we’ll put on a show for them.”

Chadwell is 2-0 against Buffalo the past two years, but both games were tight. In 2022, CCU won 38-26 but was trailing 19-17 to start the fourth before regaining the lead on a scoop-and-score that caused the ESPN win probability chart to nosedive off a cliff:



In 2021, CCU won 28-25 after allowing a late TD to make it a one score game. The Bulls won the time-of-possession battle in both games despite only rushing for 59 yards against a less than stellar Coastal defense last year.

The University at Buffalo football team must regroup, after one of its more dubious losses in Maurice Linguist’s three seasons as its head coach.

The Bulls have to move forward from the chagrin of a 40-37 loss to Fordham, a Football Championship Subdivision program, and now have to avoid opening the season 0-3 for the second time in as many years.

Fordham handed the Bulls their second loss to an FCS opponent in as many years, a 40-37 decision in UB’s home opener Saturday at UB Stadium.

“I know it’s a disappointing loss, but I am really looking forward to our response this week, and our response in the coming months,” Linguist said during his weekly press conference Tuesday at Murchie Family Fieldhouse.
