I don't think academics has much to do with conference realignment. (remember Louisville joining ACC). Football drives the train, except for a couple basketball schools probably. I cannot see Charlotte being a rival for anyone except maybe Gardner Webb.
95% of P5s (66 of 69 including notre dame) are R1. Wake forest, TCU and Baylor are the only R2s and there are no R3s like us.

Meanwhile only 24 G5s are R1 and everyone in the AAC (except navy) is R1 or R2. Markets can be overcome but academics are a huge deal. No G5 conference with options is going to add a R3 and no P5 conference with options will add a R2. It's just the way university presidents operate.
Louisville an R1?! Kinda shoots BC’s theory out of the water.
You have to consider the Source

I'm just going to assume we will have all 4 of our home conference games on Tuesdays in October that way anything else will be good news.

Has anyone heard what days these CUSA midweek games will primarily be held on?

What are these R1, R2 and R3 ?

When I think of R1, I think of a runner on first base.

Ballcoach doesn't need research. He's already got his mind made up about everything.

I don't recall them saying anything but "mid-week," which of course, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are "mid-week." But let's hope not.

Yeah….

NCAA, bad.
Softball, good.
NIL, bad.
Liberty, good.
Transfer portal, bad.
Alabama, good.
Louisville, bad.
Burger King, good.

There, all the research one needs, in the eyes of BC!

***EDIT .. received the email about schedule release at 2 a few hours after this***

Football renewals go on sale the 10th. I would have thought a schedule release would coincide with ticket sales but I see not.
Personally I would love to commit to the season but no guarantee I will have lodging for all of the games until the schedule is released, We have every weekend already booked up through Championship Saturday which could turn out to be a Friday. The midweek games put the screws to our planning.
I know, my struggle, lie with it.
Anyhow, I think I have until March 15 to make up my mind and I an thinking the CUSA will release a schedule this month.

I posted this earlier in a different thread, but it now seems like it belongs here. We are now in the traditional schedule release zone. I'd love for it to be released today.

For those curious:

In 2021, C-USA announced the schedule on Jan 27.
In 2020, C-USA announced the schedule on Jan 8.
In 2019, C-USA announced the schedule on Jan 10.
In 2018, C-USA announced the schedule on Jan 23.
In 2017, C-USA announced the schedule on Jan 26.

I hope I'm pleasantly surprised. Mid week games in October are not possible for us. If season tickets don't make sence we'll be watching on TV. Will continue supporting the Fames Club.

I am excited that softball season opens in 31 days. Liberty vs. Oklahoma. Might as well start "at the top" of rankings.

You're in the wrong sports forum.

Hmm...

the Saturday New Mexico State game on 9/9 seems like visiting my kids too soon (students start on 8/21)

the Saturday LT game on 11/4 seems like waiting too long to visit (local folks, help me out - will there still be leaves on the trees in early November?)

If I had to guess right now, I'd say I'm not coming North until the LT game.

Maybe travel on Thursday 10/5 and go to the Sam Houston game at night, then stay the weekend? That might be do-able.
